Okay, aparently this part got cut off from the last post: ------------------------------- Anyway, I was up 'till like 3 chatting with Dani. Wow, I was really argumentitive last night. (Again, DDR's fault) I called her a n00b for everything from her font (Which went from a big bold pink font, to a skinny font (which was 1337...Even in pink) to an italcised font, to...well, you get the picture. She eventualy ended up back with the 1337 font, but it was italicised.) to her decorations on her computer, to her wallpaper. Seriously, I think putting a lace border around your monitor - which is already pink, with tons of decals - is a little much. I mean, who the fuck stares at the plastic case around their monitor, instead of just looking at how beautiful your operating system (most of you use a GUI I assume) has converted all those numbers to colourful pixels. And I told her that. Guess what she said. "Oh, I made my desktop all pretty too. I've got a cute little mouse pointer, and funny little icons, with fluffy little error sounds teehee ^^ And I have a totaly chic skin for winamp, and a fuzzy little wallpaper, which is just adorable, and I renamed it "closet" instead of windows, because closet is where you put all your clothes!" (Paraphrased) Naturaly I couldn't take anymore and started crying for the poor computer. After a few therapy sessions, I had began to learn how to cope with the fact that her computer can not be as 1337ly plain as mine. -Okay, custom cursor = wtf. -Custom icons = wtf. -Winamp skin = wtf. Okay, they're not that bad, but I don't like them. I use winamp 3 'cause it's nice simple and clean, with a plain skin. -Renaming windws = FUCKING STUPID. I mean, what if you start getting compolsive? "Oh wow! A big purdy folder called "windows"! I'd better rename it!...How come the screen's blue now? I can't see my cute little cursor..." -Big flashy wallpaper = Well, I guess it's not too bad. I don't see much of a point though. I've got the standard plain blue background as mine. Except I wrote "If you can read this, you are not working" in an awesome monospaced font. (w00t monospacing) I mean c'mon, computers are meant for working! You know? Staring at long lines of code, or attempting to place a pixel at a precise point with a crappy little mouse... NOT FOR GAWKING AT YOUR FRILLY MONITOR, OR OOGLING AT YOUR WINAMP SKIN! And it turns out she only uses her computer for MSN...I mean, c'mon, just give me your computer, and use the computers at the library if that's all your going to do! I'll have a rant about how much money she wastes on clothing etc, later. Anyway, back to how the DDR theory pwns the popcicle theory. ------------------------------- I was expecting a parser to prevent stuff like that from happening....Meh. Anyway, I'm not in much of a ranting mood right now. Going to go read what sql_query can do, over and over, until I understand it! *determined look* Oh look, a nickel! Edit 01:50----------------------------- Wow, insomnia sucks when you have to go to *blah* piano lessons in the morning. Otherwise it's pretty damn cool. I hate wasting time on sleep. Anyway, I just had the brightest idea! Why not just display my damn sig pic at the top of my diary? Besides, not many people would understand if (computer_geek && place_to_rant) {fsx.Write.To("sitD");} anyway. And people say your mind gets dull when you're tired... Speaking of tired, someone teach me what to put in coffee to let me swallow it without gagging. Then after that, teach me how to make my own...I mean sure this is Canada, and Tim Hortons is just around the corner, and I love going for walks in the middle of the night in the snow, but still, sometimes it's better to just make your own ya' know? Oh! And I'm starting to understand how to manipulate MySQL...Just had to read some people's scripts and stuff. Venting pwns. Edit 10:15----------------------------- I figured I should probably write in here now that I've had my beauty-wasteful sleep. Actualy, all I've done between writing in here, and now, is read up on MySQL for a few minutes, sleep, and go to a math chat (online schooling thing). The teachers at this "school" are so cool! Even my computer teacher. I mean sure, I want to grab him and shake him really hard, and scream at him that I know how to program, I just want to get an easy credit!...And learn a bit more about Object Oriented Programing (OOP). There's not much use for OOP in PHP. GML relies heavily on OOP, but not in the traditional sense. Oh well, GML is good practise for Flash Action Script :D ...I still need to read a book on Actionscript...
