I walk down the side of a dark, lonely road in the rain. Mud splashes against my boots as I trudge along, slowly getting soaked from the heavy rain. I had heard about a confirmed killer in a nearby town, and it was my duty in the order to look into it. I arrive in the deserted town, confused as to why it was deserted. I hear footsteps and silent whispers around me. I stop moving and look around the town as darkness slowly sets in. I walk backwards into a shadow nearby and become enveloped in the darkness. Several guards walk buy, heavily armed with swords, daggers, bows, and a quiver of arrows each. I smile and draw my katana from its sheath. I emerge from the darkness and stalk towards the two passing guards. I smile lightly and with two quick slashes and a splash of blood, their heads are lying in the mud. I hear a footstep in the mud behind me, and I spun around, my bloody katana in my hand. I see Cloud standing there, his massive buster sword in hand and a confident look on his face. "I've been expecting you." He says to me. I grit my teeth in anger towards him. "Cloud..." I say silently. "Marius...it is time for you to die." He says, getting ready for combat. "No. You will be the one that dies today." I say angrily. With a yell, he jumps towards me while holding his sword in the air above him. He executes a two-handed downwards slash at me. I manage to escape death by dropping and rolling to the side. I jump to my feet and stab out at Cloud, hitting him square in the side. Blood spurts and flows from the wound, and I pull my blade back out of his body. He manages to get himself onto his knees. "Mercy?" He asks, coughing up blood as he speaks. "Hmmph." I say with a slight smirk. With another quick swipe and another splash of blood, Cloud's head falls forward into the mud. "It was all too easy." I say. "Too bad you killed him before I got the chance." I hear from the darkness around me and Cloud's headless corpse. "Who's there?" I ask, getting ready to fight. "It's me, Vincent. Remember me Marius? I've been looking for you all day." Vincent says as he emerges from the shadows.
