OMG. I just returned from the bookstore, and I was browsing the "banned books" list. I am aware that not all of these books are banned in rockwood district, but the fact that they are banned ANYWHERE pisses me off SO SO bad! take The Giver for example. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT BOOK! there is nothing obscene! The only reason i can think of why it would be banned is because it would cause anyone who reads it to question how things are and their life and authority. ya know what else was there? a wrinkle in time. yep. and harry potter, animal farm, jude the obscure, the scarlett letter, and tons of others. it just pisses me off. free the knowledge! some of these are realistic books, too. like the scarlett letter. wtf would that be banned. school went reasonably fast today. i didn't get in trouble for dress code by frau (although i did feel like smacking the kid next to me who insists on calling her "miss frau" and whines all the time) but i did spill some amount of acid on my hand in chemistry without realizing it i guess. it didnt really hurt, just kind of stang (at this point) and my skin was turning redish looking, so mr peters had me wash my hands with that base and water and the red went away after a while. whatever is on my face has a bruise now. two people told me that side of my face looks more swollen than the other side. and i still dont know for sure how it happened. my mom looked at it today. remarked on how it looked, actually. she seemed uncomfortable about it. homework tonight: *study for deutsch test *study for chemistry quiz *study for drivers ed test *do as much math homework as possible since it is due wednesday and i work tomorrow *do history brochere (sp?) i decided to read jane eyre for language arts by my mom's recomentation, but as usual when i walked into barnes and noble i couldnt come out without an armful of books : ( i think i better marry someone who doesnt splurge a lot or something. i dont know what is wrong with me. i cant wait to talk to him again. and its beautiful outside today. and my face hurts.
