Listening to: People are talking
Feeling: sober
Today, since first thing this morning has been absolutely beautiful (weatherwise). It's felt likean early summer/late spring kind of day, weather isnt too cold but its not hot at the same time. And the wind hasnt been blowing, it's been more of a gentle breeze...the kind of day I'd love to be sharing with my wife.
Nothing really new and exciting going on around here, I've been working all week up on the border of Iraq, but closer to the Kuwaiti side. Next week I'll be doing the same, I'll be working with my friend Tim learning to run electrical lines and stuff, So I'm excited that I get a chance to learn something new and maybe get away from the same hum-drum life I've had to live all year.
We've had a Huuuuuuuge influx of new people to this camp, for every hundred or so that leave 1000 more come in. It's just crazy, theres no room for any more people but they keep on cramming us closer together (I feel like we are on a dairy farm, and We are the cows), Which I think is why I've developed this cold. I've been all sniffly and tired the past couple of days. I just hope it gets better instead of worse, the one thing I really cant stand is not being able to breathe out of my own nose! =)
But I've tried all day to keep myself busy and awake and just enjoy the beautifull day, it's having that spiritual feeling when I close my eyes in the sun that nobody can take away.
And today I looked at my calender, and found that my birthday this year falls on Easter Sunday, just like the day I was born, and my 11th birthday. Weird how I was born on the 11th and every 11 years my birthday falls on Easter....but also my birthday Is exactly one year I've been deployed so that should also be around the time we are leaving for home. I can't wait!
well, I'm going back out to enjoy whats left of the day, and try and get some dinner (the line is usually hours long).
I love you Kate, smile for me =)

(Yes you look like Batman)
I wish I was having some of that spring-time weather!! I dug my car out from under about 2 feet of snow this morning and thought of you, and how you offered to dig me out on the snowy days. I love you.
Stay spiritual. Feeling spiritual is great!
