Well, 3 more hours and I am going to crash and burn. I got up at like 8:30 this morning and showered. My body is hating me right now. It's gonna have to hate me for the next 3 days, then I'll be on a regular schedual again. I went into the city this morning and took an mp3 player back that fried on me. I had planed on buying a digital camera and maybe a camcorder. I gave the manager the item numbers that I wanted to look at. He told me that he had the cameras, but not the exact camcorder that I wanted. SO, I can totally feel a sales pitch coming on and I'm getting ready to crawfish out of doing something that I don't wannna do. I looked at the cameras and just didn't like the way they felt in my hands, just something wasn't right. So I asked about the camcorder. He said that he didn't have the model that I wanted, but that he had the next newer model, so I said ok, lets see it. He then told me all that he had left, since it was a popular model, was the display model, and he'd have to get it outta the back to show me. So now all I can see is dollar signs, and I totally get the feeling that I'm about to take it without any lube, ya know? So he brings it out and shows it to me. He explained that the model retails for $450.00. This is a bit more than I wanted to spend, especially since I want to get the service plan and stuff. He could tell I was apprehensive, so he knocked a bit off to see what kinda reaction he'd get. Now, I was thinking that maybe I had a live one, so I explained that on my last trip to this store I got schlocked out of like $800.00 in rebates and was a bit ticked. That wasn't completely a lie. So being the great manager he was, he fixed me up. I got the camera for $150.00!!! hehehe, So after it was all said and done, I got the camera, video tapes, memory stick for still photos, carrying case, service plan, and the software and cables to run it through my laptop for less than I expected to pay for the camera. I'm really proud of myself! Anybody wanna make videos with me?!?! LMAO!! Anyhow, after I finish writing this, I am gonna get my puter packed up, get my bag packed to go offshore, and get my truck cleaned out and make sure there is no ammunition in it that I don't know about, as there will be drug/gun dogs checking the vehicles now. I wish they didn't do that. I have to drive through these little podunk places in the middle of the night. What if I break down and some drifter decides to try his luck with a broke-down roughneck. Although I doubt anyone would try me, I really don't want a fair fight if it were to happen. Ya know? When I am dealing with my life, or the lives of my loved ones, I wanna tilt the odds as much as I can in my favor. I think most folks can appreciate that. Anyhow, then I am going to go eat at my favorite steakhouse, get a good steak and some good dark beer to put in my belly before I come back and go to sleep. Gonna sleep until about midnight-ish and then get up and haul ass to south Louisiana. I am getting excited that this is my last hitch. I won't have to put up with the assholes that I HAVE to deal with on the rig, and if they push me the wrong way, I may just go on and pack my stuff and hit the road, or the boat, as the case may be. Anyhow, I'm off for now, it'll probably be a couple of days before I get to write more. That'll give ya'll some time to comment (hint, hint!!!) Ya'll have fun, and God bless.
