Well, I came home yesterday (thursday.) I know that I've been saying that I'm going home on friday, but that was the surprise. My girl thought I was going home friday, too. So I had my mom go pick up a dozen roses and have them ready for me after I got back from Louisiana. Stopped at my house, grabbed the roses, changed clothes, and took off for my girl's home. Now, see, her mom and dad were in on this, too. I'm really proud of them for not telling. I parked half a block away, and waked in behind the house, so that no on ecould see me through a window, and rang the doorbell. Her mom came to the door and opened it and called my girl to the door, said she needed to see something. So she walks around the corner and there I am holding a big white box with a big red bow, and I just kinda smiled and said "surprise." She was pretty happy to see me. She hugged on me for like 30 minutes. It was so nice to see her again. And the rest of the family for that matter. She and her mom both said that it looked like I was losing weight....I hope they really thought that, and didn't just say that to be nice. So it was a most excellent feeling telling everybody that I wasn't coming back. Most of the guys that I work with on a regular basis already knew, but none of the supervisors had a clue. They knew that I didn't get along with my boss, and that I'd probably quit eventually, cause there is no reason for him to be like he is to the guys, and he really rode me hard. Except for my driller, everyone was kinda upset to see me go. And the driller and I have never gotten along to begin with. So screw him. I think it is really funny, the derrickman has not had to really do anything for a few months now, cause I do about 85% of his job for him....a lot of the hard physical work anyhow. Yeah, he was upset to see me go. He even admitted to being frustrated cause now he'd have to go to work. Anyhow, I need to go and start packing for my move to the big city.
