Well then!! LOL! The past couple of days have just been a ride! I found out wednesday that the truck I was going to buy got sold out from under me. I was PISSED!!! So the dealership started looking for another one, and it was located about an hour later, told them that I wanted it, and got it coming.
Thursday, I went in to work in the morning, but it started raining on us so I shut down the job, and went to lunch with the guys. When I got back from eating, there was a missed call from the dealer. I called my salesman back to see what was up, expecting the worst. He said that the truck was ready, and for me to come get it when I was! YEAH!! The truck, I knew, was different from the one that I had really wanted, so I was REALLY apprehensive, but I took off from work, still wearing my work clothes and everything...I was SO excited!
Got into the town where I was going to buy my truck, and started getting jumpy...What if the color wasn't what I liked? Part of finding a new truck was giving up on my color scheme. What if I didn't like how it rode? I hadn't test driven anything like it. What if, What if, What if!?!?!?
I pulled onto the lot and saw it.........Damn! That thing was beautiful!! Went in, signed the appropriate papers, and was handed the keys from my longtime friend, the car salesman dude. My family has always done business with him, all of the friends that I have sent to him have bought from him, but this is my first new vehicle from him, so it was really cool. Even the dealer (owner) came out to meet me, the salesman had told her I was coming, and told her who I was, and she wanted to come say hello. WOW! Quite nice!
So I took it back to my hometown, showed it to mom and dad and my brother and sister. That was cool, but the next part is where it gets good. My girl down south didn't know I was coming, I'd told her that I was going to pick up the truck on friday (today.) So I pulled up to her house and her mom and little brother were outside. As soon as they figured out who was driving, her little brother took off into the house to get the her. Her mom's eyes just popped with excitement! We were all checking it out, and her dad came home and we all stood and talked for awhile.
Then I had to take her for a spin. We KNEW we had to break it in, so we took off for a couple of the spots that we've frequented. At the first one, we sorta got caught - oops!! But one person got a good view of her, and the next person got a good view of me! LOL!!
So we took off for a breather, and to go to our other spot. Something just didn't seem right when I got there, so I kept on driving to another stopping place. And there...well...yeah....YEAH.
It was starting to get a little late in the day (the sun was still up,) so I needed to get her home and take off myself. I got her home and ended up chatting with her dad for like 2 hours. It was cool, but damn!! I ended up getting like 3 hours of sleep in last night.
Got to work today, and built a workbench that I designed about a week ago. It is so cool to see something that you came up with come to life!! Really cool! And it was MEGA-strong. I was so very proud...a lot of the guys were coming around to check it out, and asking questions on how and why I did what I did, to apply to some of their projects.
Anyhow, got in from work and started making jello shots for a little get-together tonight with my girl down south. I'm really excited about going, except that there are going to be a lot of folks there that I don't know, and that makes me SO nervous. I know for sure that there will be one guy there that, sight unseen, I don't like. I haven't liked him since the first time I heard about him. Well, we'll just have to see how this goes! I gotta get some sleep!
Ya'll take care, and God bless!
