Listening to: L'arc en Ciel - Shout at the Devil
Dear President Bush,
My name is Amanda. I’m fifteen years old and have been a Canadian citizen for my entire life and, my parents as well.
I’m writing this letter to talk to you about the war currently going on in Iraq. No, I have not witnessed war; no I have not been a part of it. No, I don’t wish to be.
You’ve gone to high school correct? You’ve researched WWI and WWII? Have you retained this information? Do you realize what exactly you are doing?
In WWI thousands of millions of people died, more were wounded and never came back the same or lived normal lives.
You are the president of a powerful country; do you know what the impact of your decisions will have on these people? If so, then why are you doing it? Billions of people’s lives are at stake and you are throwing all of that away because of war. What will war accomplish? What did war accomplish in the past? Nothing, except the Treaty of Versailles created WWII. After this war are we going to have another Treaty of Versailles? Another ‘peace treaty’ that will be uprooted in 30 years, just long enough for the baby boom to have another set of soldiers, another killing spree.
That’s another thing, laws. We have laws here, in Canada and you have laws there, in the US. The death penalty is used in some states of the US, where it isn’t used here.
What gives us the right to go over to another country and kill all the innocents? You’ve made it personal and have expressed your emotions towards that country now. Isn’t that a rule of people in politics? Keep it business? Or is that what you’re doing?
Now, every single one of those military disciples (because you’ve made it impossible to be people after what they’ve witnessed) comes back to the United States. What have they done wrong? They have killed people, maybe more then ten maybe more then twenty. Is that justice? That they have to live with that for the rest of their lives? To fight a war for someone else? To not know what they were fighting for? We have freedom of speech, freedom in almost all counts so what exactly is there to fight for? Really, laws should be locking these people up because of what they’ve been sent to, but I suppose living with it for the rest of their lives is punishment enough isn’t it? Is this an act of revenge?
Well, is it? We don’t know for sure now do we. I’m a Canadian citizen, right now I don’t have to worry about conscription or anything else, I have to focus on trying to stay out of it when the time may come that I will be faced with it.
If it’s your war… why don’t you fight it? Don’t send your lackey’s. You will never experience the pain of losing your son or daughter, a father or mother a cousin or aunt or uncle, the thousands of things that someone could be to someone else. Or maybe you have already? Well then you know how it feels.
But you won’t experience it because you aren’t in Iraq fighting the war are you? Now, thousands of relatives, friends alike are going to want someone to turn to blame. Who made their sons and daughters go to war? Where are you in this? You’re in the White House waiting. Waiting won’t do anything.
War is a degrading thing, it shows our true emotions, and it reveals our weakness and solves nothing. So why is there a war?
It’s your decision. By making this one you have sent millions to their doom. I hope you’re happy, because now we, the citizens, have to deal with it. Not you.
That’s some patriotism Mr. Bush.

It's not meant to offend anyone. It's very opionated isn't it. Oh well, I hope no one gets mad. Don't take it seriously, it's just me talking.
Like I said before, I doubt Canada will enter this pointless war. The public will never agree to it.

Yeah...it's really creepy, especially since I took most of those quizzes before I was even religiously watching InuYasha. ::Falls over.::
