It's about a preppy popular girl making friends with this 'freak'. She has to choose between Perdita (the freak) or her group of fake, preppy friends. She chooses her friends, because she doesn't want to be riduculed for choosing Perdita. Perdita's very last line is, "Please, I need you." and a chapter later we find out that Perdita took her own life. This strikes a major cord with me, so much that I teared up. I thought to myself, Cassie, even if you're saying you're joking now, their must have been some truth in your actions. If you had reached out and told us you needed us, we would have been there. And if you ever doubted that, I'm sorry. So yes. I cried, for what felt the millionth time, but not for long, because I started wondering why she didn't call out for help. I want to dance naked.
