Dreamland II - #6

I sit crouched on the side of the road, my black leather trenchcoat draped over my shoulders, shrouding me in the darkness. Another one of my former friends walks along the road, his band of theives trailing close behind. I silently pull out my katana and prepare to strike when I hear a twig snap behind me. I stay still, and the person behind me walks around, not noticing me at all. He steps into the path of my former friend and his band of theives, a massive buster sword strapped to his back. I sit confused. I stand with my katana and stand beside this new guy. My former friend glares at me and his band of theives heads for the new guy. "You will pay for everyone you have stolen from." I say to my former friend. He glares at me. "We shall see." he says cockily. "If you think you can beat me you are sadly mistaken." I say with a slight smirk. He becomes angry and runs at me. He pulls a sword and savagely swings at me, and I easily swat aside his attacks. The band of theives attacks the new guy all at once, and he swings the buster sword about, easily swatting aside their attacks with such a big sword. My former friend keeps up the attack on me, and I catch his blade with my own and force the tip into the ground, leaving his midsection open for attack. I quickly bring my katana up and slice his gut open. Blood soaks the shirt around his wound. I pull my fist back and punch him as hard as I can right on the wound, and he gasps and falls back. "I told you you'd pay." I say, before taking off his head with a quick swipe. "Punish with impunity." I say silently to myself, and then turn to the new guy, so had no trouble taking out all of the rest of the men. "So who are you?" I ask. "Cloud." He says, holding out his hand. "Marius." I say, taking his hand and giving it a firm shake. "You remind me of someone..." Cloud says. "So what're you here for?" I ask, changing the subject. "Same reason as you. To vanquish evil in all it's forms." Cloud replies. I take my hand back, wipe my katana clean on my former friend's shirt and put it back into it's sheath. "Then we might as well travel together. Two people are better than one." I say, looking into the darkness of the forest. Now the real crusade against evil has begun.
