Dreamland VI - #11

Edward charged angrily at me, launching an attack at my waist. I blocked the attack with ease, and shoved him backward. "What are you doing Edward?" I demanded, putting an angry rasp into my voice in an attempt to scare the information out of him. He gritted his teeth before he replied. "Finding a way to kill vampires!" He shouted, putting the same angry rasp into his voice. He snapped off another attack at my neck, which I also blocked. I held his blade in place. "Why? You are one!" I shouted, shoving him backward. I shoved him with enough force that he fell onto his back. He jumped to his feet. "Because if I find a way to kill you, then nobody on this earth will be able to stand in my way!" He said angrily. He swung low at my shins, which I blocked. I shouted as I swung towards his chest. He jumped back and swatted aside my attack, and I swung high at his neck. He just managed to bring up his blade to block it in time, and he glared at me. "I never though my noble friend Edward could become so power hungry! What happened to you?!?" I shouted before shoving him back again. "Well, times change, and people do too." Edward said silently before swinging at my legs. I blocked the attack and jumped upwards. I concentrated on flying, and floated just out of reach of Edward's blade. "But why Edward? You could've talked to me about whatever was bothering you...I've always been your friend." I said softly. Edward shook his head. "You wouldn't understand. The world has become so corrupt! There was no way to fix it except to kill everyone who did wrong and start again!" he said. I shook my head as well. I lowered my arm and looked at the ground. "I won't fight you Edward." I said. Edward frowned in confusion. "Then you'll die." He said. "If that is my destiny. If I have to die so that you will realize what you've done, so be it." I said, before I lowered myself to the ground. Edward snarled at me. "I will deal with you, and my army will deal with your knights, and this corrupt world." he said. I looked from the floor to him. He almost laughed. "That's right. I have amassed a huge army, that is marching here as we speak. When they arrive, they will slay your knights, and afterwards they will slay anyone else who stands in our way." He said. I gritted my teeth. "I created The Order to combat evil creatures like you and your army. My knights will die before you go through with your plans." I said angrily. "So be it." Edward said. He brought back his sword to swing at me, and I closed my eyes, expecting him to land his blow, but nothing happened. When I opened my eyes, there was a shimmering green blade protruding from Edward's chest. Edward looked down in horror at the blade, and Luke shoved him off of it. Edward sagged to the ground and slowly died. I looked over at the table where Kathleen lay, and saw the equipment that was being used was made of green metal that shimmered like Luke's blade. "What is your sword made of?" I asked, turning back to Luke. "I forged it of steel like I said, but I coated it in a thin layer of that stuff. Its a rare metal that makes good weapons against vampires. Makes the blade easily pierce skin, and even kill them if you have to." Luke explained, looking over his blade. He wiped it clean on Edward's cape and shoved it into its sheath. As he did so, I ran over to the table and gently roused Kathleen from her slumber. Her eyes opened slowly, and she leapt up and kissed me hard on the lips. I happily returned it, and we sat there for a few moments, before Kathleen stopped to talk to me. "What happened to me?" she asked. "I'll explain later, but right now we've got an army to stop." I said.
