Dreamland IX - #1

A year has passed since the split of The Order. Not much has occured around Dreamland, although The Order has recruited another hundred knights. However, we have noticed some trouble. It seems that when we dealt with the Black Shadow, all of their members were not taken care of. In the later months of the year, a massive assassination attempt was made on the King, but was foiled by the King's Elite Guard. They tracked down the assassins, and when they were questioned, they received their weapons from a group they called the Black Shadow. Upon hearing the newss, I knew somehting would have to be done about the new Black Shadow. If they had picked up where the old one had left off, then they were distributing illegal weapons and metals all throughout the land. And it was The Order's duty to stop them. "We should send in a few knights to snoop around and try to stop them." Quexos said to me one day as we patrolled the perimeter of The Order's mountain base. "I agree, but it is ultimately Luke's decision." I said to Quexos. He rested his hand on the hilt of his crimson bladed sword and looked out over the mountain range surrounding the base. I stopped as well, and soon after we returned to the base, and told Head Knight Luke of our plans. "But who will I send?" Luke asked us. "I'll lead the mission." I volunteered. "Alright. Find a knight to go with you and you can leave as soon as you wish." Luke said with a nod. I nodded back, and Quexos stood straight before he cleared his throat loudly. "Yes Quexos?" Luke asked. "I volunteer to go with Master Marius." he said. I stopped from walking away from Luke and looked back at Quexos. "Are you sure Quexos?" Luke asked. He nodded. "Will you take him with you Marius?" Luke asked me. "If he's willing to go he can come with me." I said back to Luke. Luke nodded, and Quexos smirked. "Then you both hurry back. I want a full report when you do." Luke said, standing from the chair he was seated in. I nodded, and we walked out of the Head Knight's chamber, and when we did, Kathleen was waiting for me. "What were you in there for?" she asked. "I've got a mission to do." I replied, and she took my hand as we walked. "What mission?" she asked. "Against the new Black Shadow." I replied. "Them again?" she asked. We arrived at our room, and I tightened my belt and straightened my tunic. I grabbed my black cloak from its place on the back of my chair, and put it on. I put the cloak over my head, and Kathleen kissed me. "If you don't come back soon I'll kill you." she said with a warm smile. I smiled back and kissed her. "I promise." I said, and she held me tight.
