Dreamland VIII - #3

We arrived later that night, and we helped the knights settle back into their rooms and such before they rested. Dawn came quickly, and we rested for the day, before coming back out at dusk. I knew that if we attempted to go back to Xanedyer's base, he'd surely attack us, but some of the knights still in The Order were encouraging the idea of a confrontation between the two orders. "Are you serious?" I asked them upon their suggestion, "We've spent so much time making sure The Order wouldn't be corrupt and resort to violence, and now you're encouraging it?" Quexos stepped forward. "Master Marius is right. We should try to talk them down first." he said. I gave him a nod of respect. He nodded back. The knights reluctantly agreed, and I decided to wait for a few weeks before returning. When I did, I found that Xanedyer had abandoned the base, and from the tracks I found, they were heading north, to the site of the government buildings. I gritted my teeth in anger. We had to intercept them before they reached the government and try to bring them back. I knew Xanedyer would expect some sort of violence, but I hoped to avoid it. Nevertheless, those who came with me would have to arm themselves to the teeth. I returned to the mountain base and informed Luke of my plans. "Go my friend. Bring as many knights as you wish." Luke said. I nodded, and told him of my plans for The Order, the very same plans I had told Xanedyer in an attempt to bring him back. Luke nodded slowly upon hearing the plans. "I agree. This is the most reasonable course of action I have heard, and I think we should go through with it upon the rouge knight's return. Good luck my friend." Luke said. I gave him a nod of respect. "And you as well my friend." I said before I turned and departed from Luke's room. I walked to mine and Kathleen's room, and crossed it to the closet. I grabbed my sword and its sheath from within the closet. I lashed the sheath to my waist and put the black bladed sword into it. I draped my black hooden cloak over my shoulders and left the room. When I emerged into the large foyer of the base, I saw Kathleen, Quexos and several other knights standing there, dressed in similar apparel to mine. "We're ready to go now, master Marius." I heard one of the knights say. I nodded, and Kathleen smiled at me. I winked at her. "Alright. Lets go." I said, and that night, the quest to reunite The Order began.
