Dreamland VII - #8

I left soon after the meeting I had with The Order, and quickly headed back to the village outskirts, where the raiding party waited. We slowly moved towards the village, and I drew my sword from its sheath. The other raiders followed suit, and we slowly crept toward the village. "Now!" I heard Luke shout, and I put the expression on my face of horror and shock. I watched as the knights of The Order, led by Quexos, Luke and Kathleen charged at us from beyong a distant line of trees. "They must've followed our trail!" I heard one of the men say, and they they arranged themselves in a line and prepared to fight. I knoew their stand was hopeless however, as the knights of The Order were superior in fighting. I had trained them for a very long time, and for all I knew the raiders weren't very good at all. When the two groups clashed, I put my sword into its sheath well after the fighting starts and lay down on the ground. I layed there for several minutes while the fighting raged, and stood when it stopped. I walked over the group of dead raiders and headed towards Kathleen and the others. When I got there, I tore several gashes into my cloak, and Kathleen slashed me across the back. I took a knife from a knight and cut along the side of my neck, and gave them their knife back. "That should do. Athad will believe me now." I said. I smiled at Kathleen. I held her tightly, and Luke looked towards the horizon. Luke led the knights back to the mountain base, and I stood alone with Kathleen, and I knew I had better leave soon before attention came to the pile of dead raiders. "Well, I should be heading back now." I said. Kathleen tightened her grip on me, and rested her head on my shoulder. "Not just yet." she replied, and we stood there for a few more minutes. Silence came over the field where we stood, and I told her I had to leave again. She looked up at me and I could almost see tears in her eyes. "I'll be okay. Don't be upset." I said, smoothing back a loose hair on her head. "Take me with you." she said. I looked deep into her eyes, and she looked into mine. "Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked. "I want to be with you." she replied. I nodded. "Then go get some civilian clothes on, and I'll wait for you here." I said, a smile rising to my face. She grinned, released me, and ran towards the mountain base as fast as she could. I didn't have to wait long, but when she returned, she wore black garments that differed from mine, with high black boots and a dark red cloak. She had left her sword back at the base, which would make her seem like a civilian who I had taken with me on the way back to the castle. "Lets go...we'll need to get there quickly." I said, holding my arm out to her. She grabbed onto my arm and I pulled her close. I decided to ditch the horse and just fly there, and tell Athad that I was forced to fly off to avoid being killed. I concentrated on flying, and blasted towards the castle, hurtling by above the landscape.
