Dreamland IV - #6

I stepped away from the mantle, my suit of armour on. I looked down at myself, how the candlelight glinted off the suit’s shiny surface. The suit had kept its black colour, and the black cape I had worn during the great war of Dreamland was still attached to its shoulders. The edges of the cape were torn and frayed, and it had a few odd holes in it, but I liked it. The dark, torn look matched my new, dark, vampiric persona. I took my katana and lashed it to the waist of the armour. I turned to face Kendrick and Edward, and they smiled at me. "You look ready to kick some ass." Edward said. I grinned. "I feel like it too." I said. I moved by arm about, and the form fitting armour adjusted to my every movement. The metal gloves did the same as I clenched my fists. "We will wait until tomorrow night when my army has returned to attack. When they return, we will march upon the main castle of the guards and do to them what we did to the beasts who wanted to take Dreamland." I said, another evil grin rising to my face. Edward smiled as well. Kendrick crossed his arms over his chest and smiled too. I saw the sun starting to rise over the horizon, and I felt tired. "Does this house have a cellar?" I asked. Edward nodded. He led me to it, and I walked into the darkness within it. I sat on a wooden table nearby and fell asleep quickly. I awoke after the sun had set and walked upstairs. Edward and Kendrick were still there, as was David Bishop. "David, how well did you do?" I asked, surprising everyone in the room. He smiled. "We’ve got about 500 men awaiting your command." He said. I grinned. "And how many men do you have?" I asked Edward. "1500. Combined with 500, we should have an army about the same size as the one of the guards." He said. I nodded and grinned. "Let’s go to war." I said, feeling the urge to kill. We all hopped onto a few horses that were standing around outside the home, and we trotted over to David’s army of 500 men. They all looked at me, obviously confused. "Have you all heard of the guards’ plans against us?" I asked, having to shout so they could all hear me. They nodded. "Are you all ready to charge their castle, bash down their front gate and make them pay for their schemes?" I asked and shouted again. "Yeah!" they shouted in unison. "Then lets go kill some guards!" I yelled, unsheathing my katana and holding it up into the air. They responded with another yell, and raised their own weapons into the air. They started marching towards the east, the direction of the main castle of the guards. I looked over at Edward. "Have you already given your men the motivational speech?" I asked him, sheathing my katana. He nodded. "Good." I said. We galloped to the front of David’s army, which soon met up with David’s army. The massed forces marched towards the main castle of the guards, which loomed ahead of us. I hopped off my horse and it ran off the battlefield. Edward, Kendrick and David did the same. Kendrick reached behind him to a sheath on his back I didn’t even see and pulled out a bulky two-hander sword like the one I had used during the war of Dreamland. David pulled an older sword from a sheath on his hip out, as did Edward. The guards in the towers noticed our army, and their own army started marching out of the front gate towards us. I turned to our army. "ARE YOU READY FOR A WAR?!?" I shouted. They all shouted back to me, and I pulled my katana from its sheath. I continued my yell as I gripped the hilt of the katana in both hands and started the charge down the slope of the battlefield towards the army of guards, my own army following me.
