Dreamland Returns - #13

Pestilence stood on the field before me, and glared at me as I approached him. "You will pay for this." he said. "Oh really?" I asked. He shouted in anger before he lashed out at me, a sure sign he was going to attack. He was full of rage at the fact his army had been decimated, and it showed. I merely sidestepped all of his attacks, making him more and more angry. He continued to flail his sword around, swinging to my left and to my right as I moved to avoid him. He finally managed to get a lucky swing at me, and I swung my sword to deflect the attack. I parried the attack and shoved his blade backward, throwing him off balance. "This is foolish." I said. Pestilence snarled and stabbed out at me, trying to pierce the armour over my chest. I rolled my shoulder back, and the blow glanced off my armour. He started to fall forward, and I brought the heel of my hand up into his chin. I felt his teeth rattle, the impact of which rattled my own arm. I followed through with the attack and tossed him backward. He landed on his back and rolled to a stop, trying to figure out what had just happened. His second in command luncged at me with his sword drawn. His attack was even more clumsy than his commander's. I took the attack on my gauntlet, thankful that the white armour I wore held. Any other suit of armour and the blow would've slashed through and taken my arm off. He looked baffled. I smirked and stabbed out with my own blade, piercing his throat and pushing through his neck. Blood dribbled from the wound, and I pulled my sword from his neck. Pestilence climbed to his feet and glared at me again. "Stop this." I said. "Never." he said. "Do you really wish to see your men die?" I asked. "They'll die for me." Pestilence said, his voice full of its usual cockiness. I sneered and punched him in the jaw as hard as I could. The blow knocked him out cold, and he fell to the ground unconscious. I looked at his remaining guards. "If you want to live, you can join me or leave. The choice is yours." I rasped. Half of the 20 men left, while the other half pledged their service to me, after seeing how easily I'd managed to take out their commander. I turned back to my army, making plans about how to take on and defeat War.
