Listening to: Kamikaze Cowgirl-Larry Joe Taylor
Feeling: delicious
It's Friday and I'm not at work. I took the day off because I was going to my brother's powerlifting meet, but my parents left yesterday while I was at work. There was no way I was going to give up a day off from work!! And my parents are gone! LOL, I love my parents, don't get me wrong, but it's nice to be alone for a little while. I'm never alone!
Gerd came in Tuesday. I wasn't planning on seeing him until Wednesday, because he was going to get in late, and needed time to rest. He showed up at my house about 6:30 or so. It was a wonderful surprise! Mom was glad to see him, and Jake taught him some stuff on guitar. They get along so well! My Grama and cousin Buck showed up a little while later, so Gerd got to meet them. Grama said he seems like a nice guy. Buck said he doesn't like him, but he's too overprotective, lol. Wednesday after work, I rode with Daddy again, and Gerd was going to pick me up at Daddy's store. Dad's parents were on their way back from Louisiana, so they stopped to see Daddy, so Gerd got to meet Grandma and Grandpa. Poor guy, ambushed 2 days in a row! Grandma likes him, they talked religion, and about her pilgrimage to Majegorie (or however it's spelled). He talked to Grandpa about ranching, and the oilfield. They have alot in common. We stood in the grocery store for like 30 minutes so they could talk. It was neat. Gerd said he's anxious to see them again so they can talk some more. I was telling all this to a girl at work, and she said "Uh-oh Miss Dawn, he's getting in good with your family so you won't be able to get rid of him!" I don't think I want to ;) So after we left the grocery store, Gerd had to get a new water pump for his truck, so we went to the auto parts store, and talked to a guy he knows for awhile. We went back to his apartment and hung out alone for awhile, then his neighbor came over, she was having guy problems. Gerd helped calm her down. Then his roommate came home, he'd been in an accident (he's fine, his truck's not), so Gerd listened to him. A friend of the roomie's (also Gerd's cousin) came over, and we all sat around and talked. I love the way he is with people. Always cracking jokes, being silly, making everyone laugh. He's so sweet to everyone, it's really cool. Last night (while I was all by my lonesome, shh, don't tell Momma!) he came to see me. I made Lasagna, which didn't turn out too bad, Gerd liked it. I made chocolate-covered strawberries too (Gerd enjoyed those a little too much! I'll spare you the details!). It was a great night, just spending all that time together. (Yes honey, especially the time with the excercise ball! See, I told you I'd write about it!) Gerd surprised me last night with tickets to the Pat Green concert at the rodeo tonight. He's going to try to get all his stuff done early so we'll have time to walk around the stockshow for awhile before the concert. I'm excited! Then tomorrow we're leaving for Huntsville, one of his friends is getting married and Gerd's making me go with him. :P We'll spend the night at his brother's place, then come back sometime Sunday. I'm a little nervous, there's so many people I have to meet, I hope they like me just enough to make Gerd happy. I'll let everyone know how it went when I get home Sunday.
You should put up a picture of you and Gerd. I bet y'all are cuuuuuuuute.
Have a great day.
