It's been a rough few weeks...while I was talking to Gerd today, my little brother came to tell me he just learned a new song and I had to hear it. So after exchanging words and fighting tears and resolving to fix the things that were causing trouble, I went to hear my little brother play his guitar. Never has this song meant so much to me. I think it was a combination of the timing, the way my brother played it (it's meant to be performed by one accoustic guitar and a smooth southern voice, I swear!), and the way it seemed that Jake knew that was exactly what I needed to hear. While he was playing, he'd glance up to see how I was responding. He saw I was crying, just shook his head and smiled. He's gonna be awesome.
Collide Lyrics
by Howie Day
The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
Yeah
I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide
I'm quiet you know
You make a frist impression
I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to ryhme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide
