I heard this song awhile back, and immediately thought about Gerd. When we went to Robert Earl Keen's Texas Uprising in Corpus Christi, we heard it live. I told him it made me think of him, and he hugged me while we listened to it and I sang along. Every time I hear it, it brings a smile to my face. Here's a link to a short clip, and the lyrics are below.

"Stick Around" by Reckless Kelly
I can make you a believer in fate
Divine intervention and signs of the sun
You came to me not a moment too late
With death at my door and time on the run
And destiny surrounds you
But now that I’ve found you
I’m never gonna let you go
I’d be lost without you now
I’m never gonna let you go
You’re the one sure thing I’ve found
So you better stick around
I can feel you from across the room
Laughing eyes are staring me down
You come to me not a moment too soon
Revealing your secrets without a sound
And mystery surrounds you
Baby now that I’ve found you
I’m never gonna let you go
I’d be lost without you now
I’m never gonna let you go
You’re the one sure thing I’ve found
So you better stick around
Night comes calling, you’re with me now
And I’m at peace within my dreams
'Cause sometimes dreaming is wiser than waking
Where nothing's ever as it seems
I’m never gonna let you go
I’d be lost without you now
I’m never gonna let you go
You’re the one sure thing I’ve found
So you better stick around
You better stick around
Yeah you better stick around
See, isn't it the sweetest? I love Reckless Kelly, but not nearly as much as I love Gerd.
I AM SO CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!
Bye!
