Anywhere...#13

The crowd was on their feet and the club filled with screams and applause. Smirking, she glanced at Alan and he nodded. He leaned over to her and she turned her attention back to the band.

"They're good."

"I thought so."

He smirked and said, "Apparently you have made a good impression with one of them."

She glanced at the member that happened to be staring at her and she rolled her eyes. Alan chuckled and she threw the wash cloth in his face.

"What?"

"I don't need you encouraging him."

"I get it...you don't want to get Bryan all upset."

Her eyes flashed and she moved down the bar to a new arrival. He ordered the special and she left to fill it. When she handed him his drink, she glanced up and found the guy staring at her again. Frustration was building and she glanced around the club. Bryan stepped inside and she nearly screamed.

Alan smirked and she said, "Don't even think about it."

The idiot waved at Bryan and she groaned as he approached them with a stupid smile. He winked at her and she smirked coldly.

"Having a good night Alan?"

"Yes sir. Faith booked a good band. The whole place is crazy about 'em."

Bryan smiled and said, "Faith is always good to her word."

She looked at him and said, "Don't even think about it. No more dates."

Alan chuckled and asked, "How many have you gotten her on?"

Bryan laughed and said, "This week will be five."

She about crumbled into a puddle on the floor and said, "I said no more dates."

He chuckled and Alan cleared his throat. She glanced up at him and then over at the band. The guy was still watching her and she frowned slightly. No one these days could take her hints and it was getting old. The song ended and the band took a break.

She watched the guy make his way over to the bar and Alan about laughed out loud. She groaned and moved over to him.

"What can I get you?"

"The usual."

He kept it short and she glanced at him before she filled his order. When she slid it to him, he nodded to her and she walked back over to Alan and Bryan. As the guys talked she glanced over at the guy and caught him watching her, studying her. Frowning, she took a deep breath and moved over to him.

"Can I get you anything else?"

He shook his head and said, "This will do."

She sent him a cold look and said, "Then it'd be nice if you would quit staring."

He smirked and said, "Afraid you just captured my attention. You remind me of someone."

His tone set her on edge and she growled, "I honestly don't care."

He chuckled and she growled as her fist tightened around the wash cloth she held. Bryan moved over to them and she rolled her eyes.

"Is he bothering you, Faith?"

She saw the guy's eyes snap to her face and she took a deep breath. Faking a smile, she shook her head.

"No, he's just being a normal visitor."

Bryan nodded and said, "I've had little luck with her, good luck my man."

"Bryan shut up."

Her eyes never left the guy's gaze and slowly she notice the band gathering on the stage again. Bryan left and the guy stood up.

He leaned across the bar and whispered, "When we finish, I want to talk with you....alone."

She watched him return to the stage and sighed.

Alan waved goodbye to the last customer and glanced over at her. She sighed and he chuckled.

"Glad tonight is over."

"I don't think it is just yet."

She looked up and watched the guy heading straight for her. Moaning, she dried the glass in her hand and stacked it on the tray next to her. The guy stood across the bar and she kept drying.

"Ready to go?"

Slowly she looked up at him and saw his fixed face. She glanced over at Alan and he nodded with a smile. Slowly she handed the towel over to Alan and moved out from behind the bar. The guy followed her to the door and she slipped her leather jacket on as they moved outside. He walked over to a jeep and she slowly slipped inside.

He got in and asked, "You work here?"

She looked at him and said, "Whenever a band comes in."

His eyes focused on the road and he said, "I never saw you working in a club, Faith."

The way he said her name set her on edge and she asked, "What do you want?"

"I want to know why you left."

She studied him and said, "I'm sorry but I don't even know you."

He came to a stop and asked, "Which way?"

"To the right."

The jeep turned and he said, "I know you very well."

She glanced out the windshield and said, "Well I don't know you."

They stopped at a red light and she said, "Turn right at the next light."

He glanced at her and said, "You know me."

The light turned green and they moved down the road. She tightened her fingers into her fists and prayed that he would just stay silent. She wanted to be home and safe, not with this guy. They turned at the next stop light and she pointed out her apartment complex. He pulled into the parking lot and turned the engine off.

They got out and he walked her to her door. As she turned the key, she kept her face hidden from him and yet could feel his gaze burning through her. The door opened and she turned to him. He was mere inches from her and she felt every ounce of her freeze as her blood raced.

His eyes were lethal and he said, "You left me four years ago at the bus station."

She felt her throat tighten and she said, "This can't be happening."
