I went to Cache Valley Crusin’ with the ‘rents today. It was kind of fun, it makes me want to try my hand at designing cars, or some other kind of vehicle, you know what I mean?
Work was a bit frustrating today. I’ll admit that I don’t blame the people who I called for not wanting to do the survey one little bit though because it was 25 minutes long! Although they did give a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate out with it, unfortunately most of the people who I called didn’t really want to gift the gift certificate enough to take the survey.
By the way, here is something that I think that EVERYONE should know about telephone surveys. If you want out of a single survey, just get the Interviewer’s attention, and politely tell them that you Do NOT want to take the survey. If you hang up, they will just call you again. If you let the machine get it, you will be called again for the same survey. If you answer, and then hang up without saying anything, often you will be called again, although the rare Interviewer may take this as a “soft refusal,” but most will see it as your not being available, since that is what we are trained to do. If you wish to stop all surveys from any one company, then simply get your Interviewer’s attention and ask to either be taken off their list, or to be put on their Do Not Call List. Please note that being polite usually takes less time than yelling at your interviewer about how much you hate being called ALL the TIME. It’s also the more Christ like approach. Although it may not be as fun as playing pranks, it is certainly more effective for YOU if you want to end the calls.
On an unrelated subject, I need to learn how to cope with disappointment better. I really don’t deal with it very well. I keep getting depressed over my senior year of High School. Oh well. I just need to find more ways to occupy my time, problem is I only have one friend here that I comfortable doing things with anymore.
