yesterday was amazing. in my english class, i found out that i am a finalist in this city-wide essay contest, which is cool because: 1)it was a mandatory thing for a bunch of local high schools and i'm still a finalist, 2)i wrote the paper in like three hours the evening before it was due and i'm still a finalist, and 3)i thought it sucked, so i wouldn't have even submitted it to the contest except that it was worth five points of extra credit, and i'm still a finalist! that made my entire day. i have (a moderate amount of) talent! who knew? i just feel bad for the people who really poured their time and effort into it... i volunteered at the local wildflower center, but since it was a sunday morning there was not much to do so the guy i was helping just gave me and my friend the grand tour of the place, and it was so gorgeous i wanted to melt. i love spring. it was kind of drippy, y unas gotas gruesas were falling on my head like cool little kisses from the clouds. as i was walking through the grounds on my way out i stopped to look at a fish pond and this one gota gruesa fell right on the tip of my nose. i was startled and delighted.
