one of the most amazing things in the entire world is the ability to see. i look at trees, and i am absolutely floored by crisp clear outlines of each and every leaf, blazing a brilliant shade of green against the blue of sky and the neutral earthtones of, well, the earth. trees floor me. wow. sometimes, and at very random times, i become cognizant of my own heart beating. and then, it's all i can feel, until i can't think about anything but the anxious fluttering in my chest. until i'll do almost anything to distract me from the beating of my own heart, because i'm afraid that if i have to sit still and feel it pulsate for just a minute longer, my head will explode and leave behind a bloody stump of a body, still governed by the rhythmic beat of an incessant drum.
