i try to practice random acts of kindness. i like to do little things for people just to make them feel special, or to make them smile if they've been feeling blue. i leave them little notes where they won't find them for a while, or i'll make them some cookies, and i've even been known to give away a couple dollars. you'd be suprised how happy people get when you offer them a dollar. or a cookie, for that matter. i make some damn good cookies. the point is that i like to make people happy and show them that i care about them. i wouldn't mind it too much if some of that love was reciprocated. but unfortunately, i rarely even get compliments. instead i'm greeted with "those pants are too tight for you" and "your roots are showing big time"... ow. come on, guys... i made you cookies.
That happens to me a lot too.

Working the backlash of society's personage of "beauty." Can you see any logic within? (I don't.)
Your acts alone put you above all the demeaning comments, or dislikes.
Remember, love is something that only goes one way, sometimes. =(
But, for you, that recipriocation of love will come. That's undeniable.
