maybe i'm just easily amused. (maybe?) but you know, i love car trips. just sit me there with my cd player and i'll be content to stare out the window for hours upon hours. it's not boring for me. i've got music in my ears and the scenery never stops. my family has a lakehouse about an hour away, and i've always loved the drive out there... gently rolling slopes of the texas hill country, a toasty brown color from the sun-scorched grass, dappled with dark green cedars, defying the heat. and then the hills would give way to fields of green, and brown, and if you're lucky, wildflowers. there's nothing happier than a smiling field of wildflowers under a bright blue sky. and then, after an hour of such things; of rickety old wooden fences holding back the brush, of quaint little houses, and watertowers, and rusty gates, there you are, just down the street. you pass that house you've always loved, the bright yellow and orange house. i'd be so sad if they ever painted it. it reminds me of happiness, and of those wild lantanas i love so much. so yes, now you're in the driveway and you step out of the car... fresh air, cool green grass between your toes, the sound of the waves lapping against the rock wall, and the breeze gently swaying the crepe myrtles and that one giant oak that's been there forever. aw, now i want to go to the lakehouse... this entry is upsetting me now.
yah, i know what you mean about the cd player+car thing. im the same way,
