I just had the coolest Family Home Evening! We learned about how the SLC Temple was built and dedicated! We watched a movie on it! Wow! I never really thought about how important the temple really is! It's amazing what you can learn by just feeling the spirit and really trying to pay attention to the things you don't know. I have learned so much from being a Latter Day Saint. It would take me months, maybe even years to tell you all what I know about this church! I love it... You know, once you try to look through life through Gods eyes.....You start to understand this world through the perspective I think we all need to see. We just need to realize that this world isn't just some kind of toy that we can mess around with. It's something so sacred that it needs to be handled in the most delicate way possible. It's a privilege to live here, and an honor. We need to treat it as such. Our lives here are so short and so fragile, that we really need to look at it through Gods eyes so that we may know what to do. So that we may treat this life how it should be treated. With the upmost respect and love! Because we only get one shot at it! Why not make it the best! We will go through hard times! It's expected! Even to the best of people! Like when Brigham Young was building the Salt Lake Temple, and the soldiers were sent to go see if they were building the temple, and were sent to destroy it! President Young had to burry the foundation of the temple so it wouldn't be destroyed! 9 years of work had to be covered! And when the soldiers came to destroy it, it looked like farm land so they moved on. Then when the saints uncovered the dirt from the stone, they found that stones were cracked and ruined. They thought that there was no way they could build the Temple if the stone was cracking from a little bit of pressure from the dirt, let alone build the whole temple out of it! Brigham Young was discouraged, and was very doubtful! Just think of it! A Prophet doubting what the Lord had told him to do! But he wouldn't give up! He had to find a way! So he sat on the foundation of the Temple and said, "I will not leave this very spot until I come up with a solution." And he stayed there until Brother Woodruff came and talked to him. He said, "We will have precise measurements on every stone and we will make sure that we will make NO mistakes!" And the problem was solved because the Prophet was determined to overcome his trial! Isn't it wonderful! All we have to do is inquire of the Lord, wait for an answer as long as it takes (if you want an answer bad enough) and the Lord will deliver you! I love this church, and I hope I can continue to learn as much as I can before I die, and LONG after! It is true! It cannot be denied! The Lord has a way for everything and a solution for everything! We just have to want it badly enough! I love the Lord, and his Son and the Holy Spirit. This life is so wonderful because of them! Without them........we would be utterly and completely lost!!! Once again, it is absolutely without a doubt true! And I say these things in the name of our most beloved and most wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen
