Golden Youth

Feeling: better
I think things are starting to get back to normal... back to the way they were. The second semester of summer starts tomorrow, and I think that'll help alot too. I'm starting to realize that I love having the time, and the means to go do what I want with my summer, which is a first. It's nice to be able to tell a friend that I can go do something, or that I can pick them up and bring them somewhere. I had some pretty bad days this last week, but I think it was made up for by the good days I had at the end of the week. I got to go to the car show and look at butchered 1992 Suzuki street racing cars with Laurie and Tori. I got to joke and haggle about ridiculous pricing on classic Nintendo games with Perna. I got to have a sweet practice with Best and Purna on the fourth of July (four words... G major trumpet harmonies). And even today, I got to go see Napoleon Dynamite (which was miraculous by the way) with Taylor, and we both agreed that it was a great film. Another thing that I realized about Nintendo (sorry to make that non-sequential) is that Zelda: The Ocarina of Time is by far the greatest Nintendo game EVER. I spent roughly 1/3 of my weekend playing that game, and I don't regret one minute of it. Oh... and I'm realizing another thing, kids my age grossly under-estimate the greatness of 30's swing, big band and jazz music. I think music back then had a purpose unlike many of today's bands, not to mention any names or anything (*cough* GoodCharlotteSimplePlanLinkinPark *cough*) Anyway, I can only wish all of you who read this, the happiest of weeks, of months, of lives. Thanks guys, sleep well (because I should).
