Listening to: Alanis Morissette
Feeling: alright
My views on gay rights:
However much I stand for gay rights, I really do think that it's going to work itself out in the end, and I doubt one thirteen-year-old girl who is never listened to will make the difference. I mean, U.S. citizens don't even have rights until their eighteen, so what can I do about it?
Alright, my point is: look at the past. African-Americans have rights, women have rights, natives have rights--eventually people will see that the U.S. is about the freedom of the people, of ALL people, not just Christians or Jews or any other specific religion or group.
Don't get me wrong, I'm about the only thirteen-year-old in the Gay community in Alaska. But I still think that it's going to work itself out at the end, no matter what I have to say about it. And even if Bush does manage, somehow, to ban gay rights, then the next president, or the president after that, will sent this country straight again.
My views on self-injury:
You all will think I'm officially insane, but I don't have any problem with self-injury. I see cutting yourself as a way to release stress--at least that way, we know that the cutter isn't going to hurt someone else. (Or at least, the chances are less likely of them hurting someone else.)
I don't think cutting is healthy in any way, but I do think it's better to hurt yourself than to hurt someone else.
