I need to meet someone who has been molested, who has failed classes, who has had mentally ill and alcoholic parents, and absent ones, who has seen a parent die, who has had anger problems and depression, who has attempted suicide and enjoys playing with fire, who is successful. Someone who has grown up, who has led a good life, who is happy, and altruistic, and friendly. Someone who is intelligent and charismatic. Someone who commands respect and authority. And somone who will tell me that all I need to do is grow up, and grow out of it, and reach beyond all my past and my present and my preoccupations of the future, and visualize and work toward success. I just need to be told to get over it, by someone who has. A friendly prod and the proof of possibility. ... You know what this is about. Or you don't. Maybe you can figure it out.
