PLANT IMPOSSIBLE GARDENS.
Look forward to dreams.
Cry during movies.
Swing as high as you can on a swingset, by moonlight.
Cultivate moods.
Do it for love.
Take lots of naps.
Take moonbaths.
Giggle with children.
Listen to old people.
Drive away fear.
Play with everything.
Entertain your inner child.
Build a fort with blankets.
Get wet.
Hug trees.
Write love letters.
I went to the Nebraska volleyball game tonight with my mom. Of course, we beat Texas Tech in three games. Too easy. But I swear, going to volleyball games was like a staple in my childhood so it's fun but also weird for me to go now. First of all, I'm not all obsessed with the sport anymore. Second, some of the girls on the team are younger than me. When I was little, I looked up to the team like they could do no wrong, it was seriously hero-worship. And so it's weird to think that they are now my peers. Of course, they are all taller than me by quite a bit but then again, so is my sister. Sometimes I wish I had kept playing volleyball. I think if the girls on my team were actually nice and treated me like a friend when we weren't on the court, I might have really gone somewhere with it. Everyone always says that. If I hadn't quit, it might've paid for my college tuition. Of course, I would've settled for nowhere but Nebraska and I know I would never have been good enough for that. It would really be funny if I had ended up at Iowa State anyways on the volleyball team since they aren't that great. My mom told me last year that I should try for a walk-on position. I was like riiiiiight . . . I haven't played volleyball in 3 years, that wasn't going to happen. Plus, I'm really out of shape. Really, really out of shape. But the first thing people tell me when I tell them I played for 7 years is that I look like a volleyball player. Funny, eh? I'm like, I know, I have huge thighs. Too bad they are all fat now. :(
It was also good to go to the game because I just love Nebraska athletics. Football, volleyball, baseball, it doesn't matter. We just rock :) No matter where I go or what I do, I will always be a citizen of the Husker Nation. I may be an Iowa Stater, but I am a Husker at heart, ALWAYS. Nebraska is my one true home and will always be, even if my mom does cross the border and move to Iowegia.
Today I also surprized my grandma. It was so fun, my mom called her and asked her if she wanted anything from Sams. My grandma was like no, but I do need someone to empty my dehumidifier. It was so funny because that's what I did all summer long for her. So my mom was like "yeah, I'll stop by real quick and do that for you." But then I walked in to her house and was like "I heard you need some water dumped out". She was so surprized; it was great. She had also called me this morning on my cell. But I was drying my hair so I didn't hear it ring. So it was really funny that I showed up there since she thought I was in Ames. I'm planning on doing the same thing to my dad and brother tomorrow before I leave.
you know you love me ;)
