. . . . to my little corner of the world.
Yes, I've changed my journal again. Yes, that is actually a picture of me, scary as it may look. Woo hoo for ski trips and taking dumb pictures while on it. Anyways, the colors were hurting my eyes so I changed them to my preplanned theme, although I can't find a picture to match it yet.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!
Well, Christmas was ok around here. My sister didn't come up from Oklahoma because of Albert but I guess that's what happens when you grow up. She should be up tomorrow for a dentist appointment although I haven't talked to her since this morning at 2, when she thought it would be fun to call me and wake me up and then try to chat. Right, only not since I was really tired.
Let me see, not a lot of exceptional presents this year, except that my mom paid for TCX for me as a Christmas present. Woo hoo, I'm excited, I leave Sunday morning and won't be back until the 1st. Minneapolis Hilton, here I come!
I did get two books from Cindy for Christmas and her mom and sister gave me a really cute Tinkerbell shirt. They are so sweet, those Hawkinses. I also got money, Christmas tree ornaments, long underwear (for those chilly early morning walks across campus), a bracelet with matching earrings, an angel figurine, and Chinese silk pajama pants from my family.
I was just happy to get together with my family, since we weren't even sure until last night that we were going to do that. But my aunt and cousin that both had surgery recently were feeling well. My mom and I headed down to stinkin Lincoln around noon and had dinner. Then we watched Office Space and Lord of the Rings: Two Towers. My cousins Meghan and Andrew were hilarous because they have watched the Lord of the Rings movies way too many times. They know all the words to the extended versions. My cousin Andrew even admitted to watching both the actor's and director's commentaries from both movies all in one day. So basically, he sat and watched both movies twice through with people talking. NERD-O! :) But they were funny because they would add little comments like "he's yelling really loudly right here because he just broke his toe, that's why it sounds so good" and "watch, watch, Legolas's cape pendant switches sides". It was great.
I'm really tired now and am heading off to bed. But first, I would like to share something. Since I have recently been accused of living in a bubble, and this is my little corner of the world, I have a poem to share.
Oh I am a chickie who lives in an egg,
But I will not hatch, I will not hatch.
The hens they all cackle, the roosters all beg,
But I will not hatch, I will not hatch.
For I hear all the talk of pollution and war
As the people all shout and the airplanes roar,
So I'm staying in here where it's safe and it's warm,
And I WILL NOT HATCH!
you know you love me ;)
