How about this; Is there only one Matrix? Is Zion part of or a Matrix in and of itself connected to the "real world"? Is Neo a program or a step in human evolution in which it can control electricity? Too many questions...brain...must...not...explode... DANGER WILL ROBINSON!! DANGER!!

Read the book "taking the red pill." its all about the matrix philosophy.

Who knows, maybe there are infinite Matrix's each one containing an oblivious society completly unaware that they are only the product of another entity's Matrix even though they themselves contain what they believe to be a "Matrix". And, wouldn't it be stange if they were circular, each one contained within the last until at the end it all comes back to where it began, and then it starts again.
