Listening to: HIM - The Funeral Of Hearts
Feeling: mystified
Trying to think of something to write. And not some quotes that I cut and paste on here so that I don't have to think. I want to put something of interest and that I've actually put some heart into.
Ummm....
To be continued...
P.S. finished American Gods, now starting Perdido Street Station, by China Miéville. It's kind of weird, but very interesting.
-=Addendum=-
Ok, here we go.
You ever wonder what's it's like to be telepathic? I have for a while. I even thought about writing a book about it. It would be from the point of view of a telepathic society or an outsider glancing in.
My whole basis would be, how can a telepath be dishonest, and how would telepathic people grow up differently than us?
We grow up not knowing what anybody else thinks. Telepaths would grow up knowing what everybody thinks. Kind of scary to think about it. From the womb, the child would be intercepting thoughts and ideas from all those around it. I think essentially, it would be, to us, a premature maturity. Thinking about complex mathmatical equations, soda, sex, driving, why are we here. You know what you think about, imagine all that and more going into the mind of an infant.
Ever read Dune? Pauls little sister is prematurely made into a fully thinking woman at birth, in baby form or course. The knowledge of multiple people all at once. There would be no "childhood." No time to play hookie or anything.
Look at that, I'm ranting again. But hey, it's something I like to do.
Anyway, how can you lie to someone who can ready your thoughts? How can you steal, or do anything "morally" bad without being found out immidiately. What a boring place.
This leads me to telepath mutation. Wouldn't there be some kind of aberration causing a telepath that can read minds, yet be immune to mental penetration? (hehehe, I said penetration) A god amoungst gods.
Meowreadyourthoughts.
