the tale of......

Feeling: aggravated
After practice yesterday brady called. He could FINALLY leave his house. You see, his mom has made him stay home because of his arm for the past 3-4 days. To say the least...he was about to go crazy. I said I would pick him up in 15 minutes to go over to Mike's house. I hurried as fast as I could. I had just gotten home from practice and the smell of chlorine was still lingering on my skin and hair. *sigh* I picked him up. He looked excited. He got in my car and looked at me kinda embarrassed. I asked him : "What is it?" brady: "Um...I can't put on the seatbelt.....could you uh...do it for me?" I started laughing. The poor kid. I've never broken a bone and fractured anything. In short, I've never had to go without the use of an essential body part before so I don't know what it feels like. I buckled him up then we drove to Mike's house discussing the latest rap songs on the radio. We arrived and ended up watching "Black Hawk Down" -excellent movie, though really gory and graphic at parts....meh...it was good none-the-less- "Alien Vs. Predator" -also a very well done movie- and "the Cable Guy" -lame movie even though Jim Carry is the man- Towards the end of the last movie I ended up dozing off into his good shoulder. He took my hand and massaged it...which made me even more tired.... *sigh* He's really sweet. He had to be home at 11 and I didn't want him to get into trouble, so, after I unstuck my car from the snow bank and the heater going, we got in . All of a sudden he let our a shriek like a banshi and grabbed my hand. He scared the heck out of me. I asked him what was wrong and he said that he had flexed his back, which had made his shoulder freak out and start twitching (his shoulder is cracked FYI)..... ....I couldn't do anything to help him except let him hold onto my hand for some kind of support. I thought he was going to cut off the circulation to my arm he was holding it so tight. Eventually he loosened his grasp and laid back, eyes closed. I asked him if he was alright...he said he would be. I drove him home as fast as I dared. His pills were at his house. I took him home, gave him his pain killers then said goodnight and headed home. poor kid. I'll take him something nice today.
