Sorry I haven't written in awhile. I've been really busy, for example I was going to do some hardcore emailing on Friday afterschool and then it turned out we had to go decorate for JSB. Who knew?!
Coming back from decorating around, oh, not too late, just 9pm, so dark we can barely see the road which is bad because it's all covered in monkey crap, me, Ella, and Nicole were shouting things at people in Spanish because nobody understands it which is hilarious, so they're all having life-changing conversations in Bhutanese and Korean and Hindi and German and Nepali (a really popular language here) and what-have-you, and we're racing down the ramp at a million miles per hour screaming things like "EH, CHICO GUAPO!" and "AY, QUE CUERPO! WOOT WOOT!" haha and nobody understands!! Then we were actually speaking and we were like "Yep, we could totally go up to somebody and be like 'eh, cabeza!' and they'd think we were saying something deep!" all in spanish. Haha. Culture is sweet muffins...
The Masquerade theme was really cool, with the lights even our horrendous color-matching skills for the banners were great for ambiance, and the 10th graders serving looked like Zorro in their black and masks. Sweet muffins.
Of course on the actual day it was raining; my dress got soaked up to my knees and Cheeky's shawl that I borrowed was wet on one side because I had to borrow Mhabeni's umbrella because Daniel didn't have one and I couldn't find mine because I lent it to Khala to go to breakfast, and anyways both of our umbrellas were broken on one side, so I would have gotten wet anyway. Then our taxi got stuck on the way up the ramp and we started rolling down backwards...
It was school food and not spectacular; Mungboi was sending everybody pieces of cake and dessert by way of the 10th graders because we got to pass notes after dinner, it was realllly cool!!! And then he sent our candlestick away (the guys were playing with it anyway and got wax all over the table). Me and Nicole were having a field day (she went with Daniel's roommate Masroor), it was sooo funny. Surekha - Cheeky - curled almost my whole head in 20 minutes!! And then we went to get dressed in Beni's room because it was quieter and we weren't in such good moods because of the million and a half people that had been coming in and out of our room all day.
Anyways, Daniel is a really sweet guy even though he's really shy and everybody at Hostel thinks I like him, which I really don't, and they're all like "Well Dude it's so obvious" and I'm like "How can it be obvious if it's not true?!" ... But anyways he gave me chocolates and a rose and walked me to Midlands after and even though he was really tired he said he had more fun than it looked like because I had fun... Which was also really sweet.
It was weird too because half the time my 10th grade lab group was making fun of me and I was totally in on it, torturing them and making them pass millions of notes for me O:) Fun times babay.
I danced most of the time with Cheeky and Beni and we busted some sweet moves with Tom Jeffrey and Georgie (who are now going out) and Nithin, Cheeky's date, and Nicole, and Ed and Amit and Jae Young and their dates YeWon, Priskil, and Maki, and Ella and B and Will and Brian, Josh, Anwesha... etc etc etc. George Jeffrey was DJ and the whole night was pretty fun. Afterward Nicole slept in our room and we talked for like half an hour and then slept til 11:30!!!! For the first time this year!!!!
At 2 we had to go up to school and clean up the decorations which wasn't so fun because we were all pretty much asleep, but it wasn't so bad... And then I went to Mrs. Howard's to bake cookies for Mr. Monty whose mom died last week, he's in Belfast until Wednesday :(
And then I took the card over to Hostel to get the guys to sign it because none of them showed up. Hah. Those were some madd cookies yo.
Cheeky and Beni and me went to dorm chapel at 7 and it was pretty cool; Mr. Wildman is one of my favorite leaders I think, him and Mr. VanZee... We did this skit on "It's Not Fair!" and we did ours on the tea line and everybody cutting and taking like four brownies... The three of us felt like little kids cuz we were all "Yeah, and people always cut, and some people get four and some get three and some only get TWO!!" and all the middle schoolers were like "Hahahaha... the division between rich and poor..." And Mr. Wildman's skit was about him watching TV and switching between his two channels, a survey on the poor and these two snobby rich ladies shopping, and he was like "It's not fair! There's nothing good to watch on TV!" Hahaha.
And then it was coffee bar and the moon was absolutely amazing, huge and bright and perfect clouds, and so we went and lay down in the basketball court at Ridgewood field and looked at the clouds and sang with Cheeky's sister Sarala (8th grade) until they had to go inside and then we just lay there until check-in.
Last night from check-in until I got out of dorms this morning I was in a rotten mood, on the verge of kicking people out of my room and really really stressed; Cheeky and me stayed up til like 12:30 talking and it was soo good, I was crying half the time. I don't even know why, suddenly I feel like the world's problems are all soaking into my skin and it hurts, man, it hurts. I warned my other roommates that the lights would go on at 6:30 and they all flipped on us anyways, plus we had music, but we were just like "No, we warned you" and then it was a beautiful morning and we had clarinet sectionals (as weird as it may seem early morning band improves my mood ever so slightly)...
It's weird because I'm also stressing out because I'm subconsciously planning two different lives for next year, while I'd much rather just live in the moment for some reason I'm having a hard time of it...
So yeah, it was a pretty crazy weekend.
I love you guys :) :-*
PS Anybody wanna send me a copy of "Chester's Way"? Please? Or other good books? Fun stuff. Because there's none of that here...
