So my Sweet Sixteen wasn't exactly a Quinceanera... Thursday night we had Thanksgiving, and then, even though American football is not part of my tradition I played with Robin, Anjuli, Gus, and a bunch of middle schoolers because it's fun... The food wasn't bad either. Like, better than JSB. Which is kind of sad. It wasn't turkey or anything. Like canned ham meatloaf with pineapple... But very tasty just the same. And PUMPKIN PIE!! Seriously, you have no idea how much you should appreciate the stuff. And pecan pie. And everything. Mr Thomas sat with us at our table and we were singing Christmas carols... He just picked up the music and played it, jazzyand uptempo and everything. He's from New York too, and really cool, even though his class isn't the most exciting. I really like him as a person though. After a loose study hall we played dressup in our room and ran around dorms wearing oddball outfits... Friday I dressed up all pretty and felt fab, got lots of compliments and stuff, and everyone said happy birthday and it was great. And in Assembly I walked in and they started singing to me really loud so I got flustered and Jae Young was playing with my seat so it flipped up and I fell hahahahaahahahaha. Brilliant way to start the day. Like paparazzi. Or something. Sid said happy birthday to me six times. Love him. At lunch Nicole and Tom and Ella and people tapped a glass of water and serenaded me and I was laughing so hard I choked. Haha. We were all working on Angel-Mortal stuff (like Secret Santa only wayyy cooler) and singing to people and stuff... After school the Earthquake Relief Christmas Handicrafts were all over the Quad and even though I was late for Cassinath Mr Monty insisted on buying me something so I got a cool handmade notebook thang, and then... Went up to Cassinath. Nobody was talking so I came to the rescue and read one of my poems, "Life as a Fish." Ella said it was like Dr. Seuss and his deeper meaning cloaked with a cute rhyme. Haha. I got a cake at check-in and then Ed, Jae Young, Mhabeni, Cheeky, and me went over to the Hostel kitchen and had Korean noodles. Soooo good. Like, the coolest birthday present everrr. Well it's up there. Jae Young only made it medium spicy in honor of me, but he kept joking about how he wanted to make it so hot I'd cry. Mhabeni put extra chili powder on top of hers. And I kicked butt at eating with chopsticks. We also ate the cake with chopsticks. It was pretty sweet. Then we went up to school for the recital. Made it in about 7 minutes. Whoo! The recital was great - there is SO much talent at this school!! It's amazing!! I'm like, the biggest fan. Of everyone. Haha. After that I was sooo tired but secretly wanted to throw a party anyway... Tom and George and Georgie wouldn't let me go uncelebrated, so they herded me over to Midlands where Nicole, Ella, Katie, Paul, Gus, Elias, Mhabeni, Surekha, Amit, and Joey had beat me to the punch. I got my iPod and some AA batteries from Robin as a birthday present and we jammed for a bit... The SAGE boys bought me a box of Ferro Rocher and Katie bought sparkling cider and ice cream and soda and so we had a toast and then ice cream floats in Fanta (fab, you should try it) and Coke. Joey and Ed made chocolate chip cookies and Ella and Katie attempted a cake, but it was half-baked. Heh, heh - no pun intended. Haha that was bad. Sorry. We finished my first cake and most of the new one, and Shoko showed up with her bunny puppet and we danced until check-in/sounds out. It was sweet. And Nicole, Katie, and Amit wrote me the most hilarious song ever. It was fab. And then I talked on the phone until lights out. So yeah, it was a good day. :) Thanks to everyone who said happy birthday, it really made my day... Thanks also to everyone who made it happen. I love you all :_D (tears of joy) (haha)
