So. Will's leaving :( I'm really sad he's had such a hard time and I almost feel guilty because I'm having the time of my life and I just think it's so amazing here...
But anyways. Sunday was actually really fun. We finally met B in the afternoon after eating some more marvy food at Nayan's (her servant is an amazing cook) and then we went and sat with B's mom while she had tea, checked out a bookshop... A lot of stuff was closed because it was Gandhi's birthday, huge holiday or whatever, but it was still cool. Then we drove to a beauty parlor and I got a trim, which I've been needing for awhile), as did Alisa, and Nicole got a hair spa. Haha. And then we all got henna. So the three of us have red hair and new piercings. Haha. Fun times. It's a pretty sweet souvenir and everybody's like "Whoa" haha.
We went back to another relative's of B and watched "Havana Nights" and stayed up realll late, we were sooo hyper and incoherent it was HILARIOUS. Alisa put her red hair in a bun on top of her head and she was walking around squeezing it and threatening to kill all mosquitos. Haha.
In the morning we got up at 5 and went to the train station and slept a bit... For the last hour or so Ella and me hung out in the open door on one side of the train and Nicole and Alisa were on the other side. The wind was blowing really beautifully and we got to see a lot of unblemished countryside that we generally don't get to see all closed up in the aircooled car. It was neat.
On the way up to Mussoorie from Dehradun in the bus we saw a political rally, they were burning stuff and yelling "Bundcaro, bundcaro" which means "close, close." I have no idea what they wanted closed, but whatever. I was proud of myself for understanding. Haha. Then we saw this van burning in front of a shop with a barrel of gas spewing on it... Some kind of rebellion too, I suppose... Scary. The police were backing people up quite a ways but I saw no efforts to stop the fire or anything. There was probably quite an explosion...
After dinner we stayed at Hostel until check-in because there was no study hall and it was sweet... We were sooo tired and sooo cold so we chilled in the common room with Amit and Boom and their guitar... Boom said he sucked and then he was sitting there playing for a long time and never played the same thing twice, and his fingers looked so smooth on the strings... my butt he can't play. And then Amit took the guitar and played some blues, and we adlibbed a lot, mostly him and me, about Nicole in Delhi, and random other things. But the Nicole blues were by far the best. Beni and me walked back to Midlands in the dark singing more blues and stuff. Haha. Fun times.
And no comments by the dorm parents on our piercings. Hair color, yes, but everybody seems to like it. They didn't see it when it was bright orange, man. Whoaaa...
So yeah, Quarter Break was pretty cool. It's weird to think in the States you've only been in school a couple of weeks and we're already in our second quarter!! AND we get Quarter Break. Sweet muffins. Kinda like HP...
