Feeling: refreshed

I only lost my mojo for one day. We cool. It's all good.

I have managed to stay calm, cool and collected despite the crap that happens.

So the purpose of moving closer to work was to...well, reduce driving.

So far that purpose hasn't been achieved during the first weekend. I've been up in SLC every day since I moved in practically!

I spent my first night at the condo with strangers on Thursday night and went to work the next morning. That's when I realized I lost my mojo. But then the weekend came and amazing things were about to aspire.

Saturday Sept 4 I went with Dallin, Loryn and Mindy to watch The Lion King on Broadway at the Capital Theatre downtown. I told Dallin when to be in SLC. I texted to make sure he was driving at the appropriate time. He wasn't. Of course. Then a few minutes later he decides to tell me that the friend he was bringing to Lion King with us wasn't going to make it. WHAT?! Stress. How the hell am I supposed to find someone to bring to a show in the next 3 hours?! I didn't really want to spend $40 on a stranger, but I was more willing to do that then waste the $40 on nobody! Gar. I wanted either Mindy or Patsy to come with me. Patsy couldn't go. And I didn't want to bring Mindy if she fell asleep and/or take her from her family. But I ran out of options now. So I texted Mindy....I called Mindy... and I finally went over to her house. She looked ...um...tired and stressed like she was gonna kill someone. I told her come with me. She said okay. haha... Good times. I'm glad she could come and the other kid cancelled even tho it was so NOT nice.

We took Trax and walked to the Theatre and then afterward walked to Macaroni Grill. The Lion King was -totally- awesome. The customes were amazing!! Whoever created the part of the music an' stuff was totally from Africa and knew how to apply that country into this tale just perfectly. There was a lot of death and dying in that disney classic I realize... Their battle scenes were kinda cool in a way, there was like no physical contact -at all-, definitely a family show, but they got their point across. It was good that most of the songs were like african type music, the sounds and words that no one really knows in order to repeat it. Otherwise, that whole theatre would come out singing all the songs of the Lion King. Although, Loryn did pick up on the english songs and sung those the whole time. Dallin and Loryn bought a souvenior mug and magnet. I bought a shirt. Rawr. I'm glad I chose to bring them to a simple disney show so I wouldn't have to explain the plot to them. Explaining something as abstract as CATS to my parents was not cool.

At Macaroni Grill my Pasta Milano wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. The noodles weren't cooked....twice. Slightly disappointed, but I was hungry. We ate like three loaves of bread. Min got chicken, Dallin got Fetticuni w/shrimp and I don't remember what Loryn got. We were like pigs. Then the waitress got our tickets mixed up...twice. That poor girl must be having an off day. I ended up paying for dallins drink, mindys meal and mine. No use trying again to fix it right?

So there I got like three birthdays in one night. Loryns, Dallins, Mindys, and maybe even the first twos anniversary. I think Dallin enjoyed it....all the way from the trax ride, to the play, to the meal and back. Dallin and Mindy talked mostly the whole time. It felt weird it was like Dallin had more in common with Mindy or was more interested in her while I was the one...taking them out on the town. I didn't even freak out anyone. I didn't rush anyone. I didn't even seethe in silence. I was really good at self talk. I said "I will not kill my brother for not bringing his friend. I will not be angry or hold a grudge when he comes. I will not rush him." blah blah. I was calm, cool, and collected. And we had some fun. Adult time. Something Mindy needed. She didn't look so rabid afterwards.

Sept 5, Sunday

I went to my new ward and we did lots of introductions. All of them are like ...older like 26+. They are going into masters degrees and buying condos for themselves and blah blah. So I feel kinda...stupid. Oh well. Here we go! They had like a list of activities and things to attend so I think I'll jump in that way. They apparently go rock climbing/repelling every thursday or something. I love rich wards! And I'm on the east side already in a rich part of town.

Then I went over to Grandmas after a much needed nap and got hooked on phonezoo.com playing every ringtone they have. Finally something that works with my dinky cheap phone. I took over Renees computer and searched all night til I remembered I didn't live there anymore and I had to go home sometime.

Sept 6, Monday (Labor Day)

I went to the Hogle Zoo for the first time (since I Kirri and I were little) with Natalie, Arthur, and Sara. We saw the new baby elephant Zuri! About one year old now. Adorable. I bought a shirt there too and a bracelet. I got a magnet for Resa cuz I know she wanted to see Zuri so bad. I sent her a pic to make her jealous. mwhaha. We were there for about 2.5 hours. I was like perfect weather really. It was really cold in the shade and then nice in the sun unless you were out too long. Then we went over to Red Butte Garden (free today) to meet up with Mindy and her crew. I liked the wedding lawn part. The kids play place was kinda cool too. Its just a big ol' garden, something Grandma would love. Mindy brought her and Renee with her. Excellent idea.

I think it woulda been more fun if Arthur wouldn't have freaked out about every little thing. For a big slow man he sure thinks A LOT about unnecessary stuffs. He was pushing Sara in the stroller in the gardens and she ended up with a stratch on her arm from being pushed through a bush or something and he kinda freaked. We had to walk up the hills in the zoo and he'd whine and complain. Natalie wanted to buy some of the cheaper stuff from the gift shop and he freaked. He had to change a diaper and the world was going to end. He said he wasn't hungry in the car before Red Butte and then suddenly we arrive at Red Butte and he's hungry. (We were going to eat before Red Butte if he was hungry) We got to Red Butte finally caught up with Mindy and walked like 10 minutes maybe before Natalie got a headache and tired and hungry and wanted to leave. So I saw my sister for like 20 minutes and Sara got to play like 10 minutes in that cool place. And the point of that...? I'm SO glad I didn't pay to go in Red Butte. I thought Natalie was bad at complaining and ending things way early, but I think we've found someone worser. In a way I think that shows their selfishness, their handicaps of being open minded. If they don't like it or don't feel good, thats it, the end, for every one involved, no matter where, when, how, why, how much, etc. Its just over "cuz I have a headache". Granted they have a lot of physical issues, but ya know, that is partly their fault too.

I should be used to the way Natalie does things tho. Its just hard sometimes when -I- want to enjoy something and try to share it with them. But all in all I had a good time. We went to Applebees afterward and I watched them debate meals for like 10 minutes and then complain when they got the food and didn't like it. Arthur just likes confrontation. He's just looking for a fight. Annoying. I had brocolli, shrimp fettucini alfredo. Mmm. Yum.

We walked over to the mall afterward. Arthur wants to get Sara a bean bag thing for her birthday, a huge one. Natalie and I told him they were really expensive, but he didn't acknowledge this fact til he saw the prices were $100+ for a big one he wanted. He just huffed and zipped out of the store. That's his angry tizzy fit. He just leaves. Weirdo. We looked around at stuffs and then they took me home cuz there was no way I was going to Arthurs dads place. I dislike the man. He's like Arthur, but ALL the parts of his personality that I -can't- stand. Arthur, at least, has some that I can stand and maybe relate to. Anywho.... I went home and watched some TV and took a shower and started cleaning up my room. Morrow I start the daunting task of figgering out which clothes I do not fit in and watching my self esteem deflat quickly.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I've learned that I dislike the water here, which totally sucks cuz thats all I drink. Soft water in showers too are just...gross. Can't ever get that feel off. My new towel I washed has shed all over me too. I also learned that the 'older roommate' is as old as my father, leaves a trail of food (cereal and popcorn) behind her, is very naive but yet humble in a way, and has fallen down the stairs. And Erin seems to be new to the condo also, which explains a lot of things.
