Mon I let my roommate and her lack of presence get to me. Usually I dont have a problem with her if she's not there. But I was in the house cleaning up and cooking yesterday and just obsessing about her immaturity for no reason, well I can't say NO reason, but for MANY reasons.

I cleaned the kitchen counters and threw all her stuff in her room. I emptied the fridge out and threw all her old food away and complained about the task to her. I thought about her coming up to me and asking why I threw her food away. I thought about her saying "You could just ask me to take care of my food in the fridge" or something silly like that and my response.

"I think that is what bugs me the most about you.

I shouldn't have to ASK you to do these things, I am not your mother.

The things you should ask about you have no respect for and do it anyway, and the things you shouldn't have to be asked to do you simply don't do them.

I shouldn't have to ask you to remove your laundry so I can do mine when you leave yours for weeks at a time. I shouldn't have to ask you to put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I'm not even asking you to turn ON the dishwasher, just place the dishes in there, but no. I shouldn't have to ask you to LOCK the doors at night, or even just shut them! so we can sleep safely at night. I shouldn't have to ask you to throw away your gross food that you buy and dont eat."

Anyways... I had emptied the dishwasher that morning simply so we could put dirty dishes in it, yes?, and I came home and her two dishes she had for lunch couldn't make it to the dishwasher. She's not here a lot, surely the LEAST she could do. I think that's what set me off.

And then today the issue is the boss.

Everything is done online now with the court system. So we get emailed hearing dates and such. But his ancient email address (that no one has heard of) is super lame it terms of its mb capacity and has a super lock on every email and so the courts emails are getting spammed out. I think he had any foreign email (not in his addy book) going straight to spam and had spam automatically delete them. So I un-did the spam options so we would see them and they wouldn't just automatically delete and we started getting emails from the court we were missing. Well, up til the time I finally got the spam settings down.

But the boss, of course, not understanding technology, has called every other entity involved with the court system to his email account and blaming them for him not getting notices of hearing dates, etc. He called the court and blamed them, he called the electronic filing company and blamed them and called his email company and blamed them. But, if you noticed, in the above paragraph, I had figgered out how to get their emails, right? I told the boss this yesterday and soo....why is he calling everyone and blaming them?

He seriously does not understand that we can get the courts emails now. He just has to click the spam folder instead of Inbox. I know its one more step for him to take, and he just can't fathom it. If its not in the inbox he doesn't get it. Oy vay. He blamed everyone else and how do you tell the boss that its not them....its REALLY not them, its...him. Its YOU boss, you are not getting this. Its not that hard. Its not rocket science. I told you I fixed the problem. I'm not totally positive all emails will come to us through spam, but we have some proof so far that it works.

Everyone he blamed turned around and blamed his ancient email account that blocks -everything- out. So eventually came to the conclusion to get a new email account. Hallaejuah. Doesn't entirely fix the problem, esp with the fact that I think I fixed the problem, but at least it would help in having more storage space. So he got a google account. Probably more confusion with changing emails everywhere he goes now.

I explained a second time after he called more ppl to blame that I did indeed fix the problem and we do indeed have emails from the court in his spam folder. And he goes and calls the courts help desk and his email company. Ugh.

What bugs me most is his jumping the gun on everything. Its like he's made up his mind before he asks the question and so he can't hear the answer and/or truth. "Do we have more on this file?" I answer "Yeah we have a whole box" He was all panicky and everything already so what does he hear, "No, we don't." Oy vay. He asks if I could fix the spam blocker thing and I tell him what I did, but he already has his mind made up that somethings screwed up. He's already mad he missed like four hearing dates already, he refuses to see the situation fixed? I dunno. Drives me nuts.

So now I guess I just listen to him blame everyone else for his incompetence. One of those situations where you think if they are yelling so much at everyone else, wouldn't you stop and think, maybe, just maybe, the problem is really me? the one yelling? I just smile and nod now. I nodded and made him another email account. I nodded and listened to him rave about not getting court notices and his stupid email and spam blocker issues. You can only do so much to help someone who won't help themselves. He's so anal most of the time he has to do everything himself or its not done right.

Sigh.

I thought this day would be much better after yesterdays calendaring fiasco. Once again he missed a hearing date, his mediation took forever, and a client showed up saying he had a meeting with him and I had no idea about any of it and was just the middle man on the phone trying to connect everyone. Chaos.

This was supposed to be the more relaxing day. But noo, everyone decided today was the day they needed/wanted all of their stuff done. And with this email situation on top of it all, its hard to please everyone. They asked for this stuff yesterday while he was in mediation and they want it done today. Now.
