Feeling: sore

Night #5 - Friday

This time I was the labotomy victim, the surgeon is the technical name for it. I had a prostetic thing on my head showing an exposed bloody brain and gauze all over covered in blood. That thing on my head was sooo...disgusting. It was all hot and sweaty and my make up was like melting off my face starting from hour one and I had 5 hours to wear it. So gross. My hair in a pony tail plastered to my neck and my hair under the prostetic was like sweaty and glued to my head. So gross. Then I had the long sleeve smock and two pairs of pants on, my black ones with the scrubs on top of it and both of them felt like they were falling off. They'd get wet from my sweat and kinda expand at the waist/hips and start to fall off. Ew. The small of my back felt gross, my neck was gross, my hair was gross, my face and make up was the worst. It felt like I had a permanent fever. I could hear/feel my heart beat pulsing through my head. And with my head being so hot it made my feet go on fire in sweaty socks.

I think you get the point. That was the grossest and hottest job I've ever had to act in the 5 days I've been there. ew. Never again. That job is much easier for a boy I'd think, a boy could wash his hair every day and not have to go through a long process to do such.

But the cool part was that I finally made it to the Asylum. I got to hide in a cupboard looking thing and pop out with a chainsaw. I got a distraction from the table opposite from me so I could get 'em easier and one of the best parts was they went through the room quickly. None of this walking slowly crap I got in the Mansion. Sometimes I didn't even walk two feet with the chainsaw in my hand before they had run out of the room. Lots easier so I could go back and hide quicker for the next group since no one wanted to stick around. Kinda loved it in that aspect.

I'd slam open the cupboard doors which almost always made ppl jump, that was mostly the real scare. They usually stare at the the table and then I come slamming behind them so it usually worked pritti good. Then the chain saw gave reactions I'd never seen before. Mostly it was running. I didn't have too many ppl run out on me in the Mansion. I got some wicked screams tho from the chain saw too. It was a fine line of being scared of a chainsaw or absolutely not scared. Something about a chainsaw noise makes ppl run....

At the beginning there was a bigger guy walkin in with ppl behind him and I had slammed open the doors with two hands and this huge guy jumped back almost toppling the others behind him and he let out a scream that I wouldnt normally...think came from a man that size. That was prolly one of the most memorable. I hadn't even pulled out the chainsaw yet. I just opened the doors...

Two other memorable ones was a couple I popped out at with the chainsaw already going and I went after the girl. I cut them off in the middle of the room so they'd have to pass me to get to the door. That girl was freakin out she almost went back the way she came til her boy pointed out the door she was supposed to go to. She headed to that door on a dead run, it was only thing she was focused on. I jabbed at her like once just before she reached the door and she jerked weird so part of her body made it through the curtain door and the other part like ran into the wall. It was kinda funny. People don't know what their going to encounter in the next room if they run through mine....mwhaha

The other memorable seemed like... a gay guy. I'm not so good at the gay radar, but I'm pritti sure. He came in alone, which I don't understand, but he was screaming from the get go and he was a freezer. Not a good combo when someone is coming at you with a chainsaw. I popped out and he started screaming. I jabbed at him with the chainsaw and he moved an inch. I swung at him with the chainsaw and he...moved another inch. Good hell. I started running at him with the chain saw and he ran to the doorway and stopped and curled up in a semi ball still screaming. Oy. How do we get this kid out? The Asylum Captain was there watching the whole thing and we kinda looked at each other like "what do we have to do to get him out?" He was right there at the door! Go to the next room man! So almost like an experiment I unsurely came at him again with the saw and he finally ran out the door. Goodness. I thought he was gonna park himself right in the doorway and literally curl up in a ball and cry, then I'd never get rid of him...

Some funny moments was another lil train with a girl in front, gay guy in middle, and I think another guy in back. Gay guy had his face buried in girls back and shaking from the last few rooms already and was waiting for the distraction to do something and I popped out and came at 'em with a chainsaw and he was screaming bloody murder while everyone else was just fine. If he wasn't sandwhiched between the two I'm sure he woulda started running and ran right into the wall or something. The contorted look on his face.... priceless. The other funny was a line of ppl and I usually try and get the middle of the line so the ones in front turn around scared and the ones in the middle stop and scream and the ones in the back jump a lil bit at least. So I jumped in the middle and the girl in front... I'm not sure what happened exactly but it looked like someone just threw a ball at her forehead making the top of her body fly backwards while her legs tried to run forward and she ended up grabbing the distraction table to compose/control herself and stand up straight. It was an awesome but weird reaction.

Hah. I have to admit the chainsaw was a lil more fun on the whole scaring ppl thing and contorted faces, jumps, screams and runs. You really get a variety with a chainsaw. Loved scaring the little kids all wide eyed and frozen. A cute lil Asian group came in a train with glow sticks shaking in their hands. Glow sticks meaning "dont scare me too much I will pee my pants" aka "Monster Be Gones". Some adults holding the glow sticks and the contorted faces they had. A family came in with Dad in front trying to make the room all scary cuz he didn't think anything would pop out for a bit, then I came and all his girls were screaming and running all over the place and I looked in the stampede and there was Mom gripping a daughter with the weird contorted frozen face I ever did see. mwhahaha

I do have to admit after 5 hours of doing that the screaming and things seem... a lil redundant and slightly boring, which really is a good thing cuz that means you get a lot in a row unlike some parts in the mansion where you only get some good ones every once in awhile. The jumping at the cupboard doors was getting boring cuz like everyone reacted. But I guess thas a good thing eh.

After awhile I started taking the chainsaw with me behind the cupboard instead of putting it on the ground it was a lot easier that way. But I had to slam open the doors with my left hand so the right could immediately start the saw and I'll tell you what after so many hours of doing that I'm coming out with bruises and pains I'd never thought I'd get while scaring others. My elbow is all black and blue from accidently charging the door with my elbow first. My hand was cramping and was simply too small to hold the button down and the trigger for the saw so my hand was like dying on me. My arms were tired of being up or holding the heavy saw for long periods of time. That was the hottest, grossest, and most painful job I've had and I did it for 5 hours. BUT it did produce some of the best scares I'd have to admit. But I prolly wouldn't do it again. So many pros and cons.

I did have a slight tissy fit with the Asylum captain, but it was quickly resolved. He came in and out of my room all the time, I'm not sure what he was doing, sometimes he'd be running in to get to another room or hiding spot before ppl came, sometimes he'd kinda exort people into my room and act with me, and sometimes he was just bored and wandering. Every once in awhile he'd come and yell at me to act -every time- he came in. Uh.....what? Like I'm supposed to spend my 10 seconds jumping out at you while you practically run through my room or whenever you are bored? Usually he came in with ppl behind him so I'd save my scare for them. My priority is scarin them. If I take the time to pop out at him I might miss a chance with some real paying customers, ya know? And I can't predict when others are coming even if he knows they're not. I dunno. Its stupid. He'd walk out of my room and so I wouldn't see him leave and I'd think "Was I supposed to know he was coming and pop out then?" oy. I cant read minds so I'd rather stick to the priority of the customers. I got all mad when he got mad that I wasn't jumping out at him at the times he thought I should. He's like "dont get mad at me!" I'm like excuse me?! its a human emotion I'm allowed to feel that way whenever the hell I want too. Ugh. And I'll act for whoever the hell I want too so screw you captain! He was being stupid.

Seriously, if the bosses want us to scare them like normal ppl they need to ACT like normal ppl. The two girls came in and one just whipped right through my room, its a small room, and the other stopped to talk to the captain behind her. Well, gee, here I go with a scare that they all know is coming. I thought the girls would walk together and maybe slower so I could at least have a chance, but no she stopped and started talking as the other girl zoomed by. So I jumped out and the first girl almost out of the room turned around almost annoyed "you need to jump out sooner" Well gee, if you wanted a normal scare you should act like a normal person coming through and the other girl should've been apart of it all too! GAR. Makes me so mad that they think I'm supposed to scare THEM, when they've been here forever and know everything and expect everything and pratically run through it all while not even giving the time for us to move. Its not my fault nor my priority. It takes my energy and time away from the ppl coming behind them and ultimately makes us all look stupid cuz no one can scare them cuz they know the place so well. I hate their power trips. It makes me want to chainsaw some of them. Its seriously a form of abuse I'm sure of it! I could not work under those ppl year round, thats for sure.

But yah, after my break I was drinking more water, felt less sweaty, and was much more pleasant toward the captain. We exchanged pleases and thank yous a lot, it was almost...weird and creepy we were both being extra nice to each other. Even at the end of the night he gave me an Honorable Mention. He said he'd never really seen that many people actually jump or scream, which we do have to admit almost every group that came in had -some- reaction. He said even when they were laughing at me I was still going at them with the chain saw. He was like "still going at them" and then he made the chainsaw noise imitating me. hah. He also commended Shock Doc cuz her prop was broken and she still got scares. But ultimately it was the 3D room who rocked the house that night. Two clowns worked together to scare, while one clown worked like three rooms and get scares out of ALL of them. Brian said it was prolly the best night they had ever had since the season began. And I was apart of it. mwhahaha. Thats awesome.

Went home at 1am and showered, washed my hair again since it wouldnt move after taking that nasty thing off my head and went to bed at 2am, gone in 10 minutes never to wake up til noon. And then for the laundry cuz I only have one day to do laundry and it has to last all week long so I gotta wash a lot. Then maybe get some Jamba Juice before starting this whole show all over again. I refuse to be the surgeon this time tho. Oh, my hands they will never be able to grip anything ever again and my elbow will never be able to help open a door again. Pain. My arms never to lift anything again. Battle scars.

The sacrifices I make to make others scream.
