MCR... What can I fucking say?? Gerard is so amazing it's unbelievable. I almost died then and there. When they played "Ghost Of You" he's like "Alright everyone, this is a love song. I want all you guys who took your girlfriends to kiss her. Now. You know what? I don't care if it's two guys. I don't care if it's two girls... Just start kissing!" Yeah, he's incredible. I wanted Kat to be there... Multiple times I was like "Damn, I want Kat to be here" How sad is that? But at any rate... It got me so hyped up and giddy and they also played "Our Lady Of Sorrows" from their first album along with a bunch from "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" including "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison" Aaaah! Kelly and I just started freaking out when he went "Have any of you been to prison?" You so knew that was coming! The only dissapointment was them not playing "I Never Told You What I Did For A Living" because that is by far my favorite MCR song. But yeah... Seeing Gerard in the flesh... What a rush! Seeing one of your top three favorite bands for your first concert even if they were only the opening band playing five songs is like a dream come true. It really was. I felt like a little kid on Christmas I was so giddy... And I got the raddest concert t-shirt ever with the cool skeleton and the guns and the MCR hat. He's so spiffy. Hah. I'm so weird. I felt uber-scene today with red emo glasses, tight jeans, a red belt, my shirt, and a matching black track jacket. I had to go outside and take pictures because it was a GORGEOUS day... Meaning it was gray and slightly nippy... Just nippy enough for a track jacket with the rain just holding up. I'm such a weirdo. I'm attached to gray days. HOLY SHIT! New subject... The Killers are playing in NYC on June 7th! I want to go incredibly bad! Aaaah! It would again like make me so happy... Of course, I'd be FAR happier to see Kat, but this would be nice... Everything is just nice in comparisson to Kat. No one and nothing can ammount to her wonderfulness and that's saying something. Very few people are that high in my book. Very few people are higher on my meeting list then Brandon Flowers. Hell, I've already seen Gerard live. What more could a kid want? But yeah... Greenday was awesome too though if you can't tell, I was there for the cover band. There were like 30 of us or so that were who knew the MCR lyrics. The rest looked at us funny when we'd sing and scream and sport our t-shirts. It was such a let down that the crowd had no support for them. Rawr. Though I guess I give props seeing as Greenday was amazing and I guess die-hard fans are going to be more excited over a debut band then the cover band... Still, I hoard MCR here in my little corner and will continue to say that they are far more talented for a band that in the grand scheme of things is just starting to get attention. But yeah, I'm proud to have gotten into them before they were even close to "big" around M-E. Sarah totally got me hooked. And damnit, if you listen to 105.7 and know the lyrics to fucking John Mayor or whatever is "pop" now... You're not ready to handle MCR. Emo/screamo is about the lyrics and the emotions and story behind the lyrics, not some manufactured shit written by someone else and sung by the granola rock crowd. Howie Day makes me want to penetrate my ear drums and go deaf. Sorry. It hurts. A lot. Please don't defend them and tell me they write their own lyrics and what a good life they've lead. Blah blah blah... They still sound stoic and emotionless to me. If you like them, fine. As long as you realize they have no actual talent, I'm cool with it. Sorry. That's my rant of the day. It just bugs me watching people in school rave about a band they know one song of like MCR. If they actually listened to the lyrics, I highly doubt they'd still like them. Maybe that's just me being defensive though. I do have a couple bands I'll completely defend and have an understanding that I liked them first. I'm not ripping anyone off. From First To Last is another completely amazing band. Thankfully, they're a bit too hard to even get most people's attention. I think I'd be even more pissed if their lyrics were misread or not truly taken into account. So yeah, hey... To those of you who've never heard me bitch... There's a huge bitch session right there! Actually, that was so drawn out that I forgot what I was saying... And now Brenda's on the phone so I've gotta split. Sorry for the longness.
