Yeah...band camp.
It was pretty much awesome until we got off the field for breaks and then I just felt lame...but I really do love it.
Our show, I'm still surprised that we got opener and ballad on the field WITH music in one week, I can't ever remember having that happen before at a band camp (then again I wasn't in band with Wick...) so that was great. I'm so excited for performances, I mean...wow. Its going to be amazing.
It rained two of the days we were there (I've still got a cold...which is slightly irritating), and MAN was it surprising how cold it got. The first time it rained was nice...we did skits. Oh dear. That was fun. I kinda felt bad for the pit, they got kicked off the "stage" because of one of the band jokes that the pit has that they incorporated into their skit. Oh well.
Then my tendonitis decided to kick in...so I hurt everywhere and walking was nigh unto impossible (let alone marching...oh man). We were doing a run-through on Thursday night (I think it was Thursday at any rate) and I got up on my toes (ok, the "pad" of my foot. But still) to go into the second move of ballad and my legs and feet hurt so badly that I started crying. Luckily Ms. Madsen had told me that I just had to finish the four sets of ballad that we had left and I could sit and play and do step off's from the side-line, which took a lot of the weight off my legs and made everything much easier. Erm...yeah.
it was fun, and I kinda wish that next week was going to be more like that too...except it probably won't because we're setting closer to drill then adding music...oh gosh. Oh well. I love marching band.
