here we haveta get an eyesight check and then we take this theory test that has 35 questions and if you get less that 32 correct you fail and have to retake it, anyway, passing those would get you a learners licence.
with that youd be able to learn to drive from whoever as long as they have a full for 2 years or something, and youd be on learners for at least 6 months
after the learners, you go for a practical test and if passed youd be on restricted licence for 12 months at least (which means you can drive all by yourself except between 10pm and 5 am which is kinda sucky)
then its another practical test, then full licence. phew, that was a load.

she yells at me and then i forget to slow down before turning and she'd hang on for dear life and screams and everything...and at one time it was drizzling too so the floor was wet and she'd yell about how id skid and how dangerous it is, etc etc
and for the record, ive driven only thrice, and never went over 20km/hr. sad eh?
