dr ada

While I was at the hospital Tuesday I observed a surgery done by Dr. Ada, and afterwards he told me that I could come into his office on Thursday (which was today) if I would be interested in observing more of his surgeries. So I talked to my mom about it, and after she said that it was okay, I called Dr. Ada's office and let them know that I was going to come in today. They told me to be there at 8:00 in the morning, so I made sure that I was, and when I got there I signed some papers/changed into scrubs. Then Dr. Ada brought me with him into the OR and I watched the first surgery. It was awesome, and I was really glad that I was able to be there. Buuuut, to cut the long story short... my day at his office today was amazing!! Everyone there (nurses and doctors) were extremely nice to me... I got to observe 5 surgeries, talk to a lot of people about my plans for the future... and Dr. Ada gave me a book and shirt. He's a great doctor, surgeon, and teacher... and I'm lucky that I got to spend the day with him. And you would think that I would consider it a plus that I got out of school, but honestly, I didn't look at it that way... I mean, yeah, I would have rather been in the OR watching surgeries and getting more familiar with what I'm going to be doing in the future... but I didn't go today to get out of school... I went because it was an amazing opportunity for me. And I loved it!!
