and all this guilt will consume him and he'll come back to me and tell me he made a mistake. that he cannot possibly continue life feeling so incomplete. that he took me for granted. but that he wants to start anew, he doesn't want one full of obligations and severe attachments. in addition, he'll say that he still want us to lead independent lives. and then alas, he'll tell me he still loves me. and kiss me with a kiss that'll feel so virginal, so new, it'll be an utterly perfect kiss that will leave us both speechless.
