3:35 Mid Sunday Afternoon (21 September 2008)   Laughing Raucously Thursday was probably the coolest 8-hr work day in the history of work days. hiking to collect samples in the mountain = cool. getting paid to do so = outstandtastic. Yarr, me hearties, Talk-like-a-pirate-day was a rollin' ship o' fun. As previously mentioned, I believe. Yesterday morning, I dragged my sister to coffee with M and Thena, which was just lovely. I love my girls so much! it's good to laugh. Then my sis and my mom went to lunch (which was good for them, but my meal was very disappointing. $8 for about 5 ounces of food...) and then to see a play. The rest of the afternoon was full of getting ready. Sister kindly helped me curl my hair. I am curling-iron-challenged. Last night was so full of awesome that it is hard to keep track. What started out as a bit quiet and awkward turned into excellent and very enjoyable. Vainly, I was happy because I got comments on my hair and makeup - I had spent a lot of effort on getting it all together so I appreciated the notice. M was voted "best chest," I'd have to say that Thena was best dressed, and I was perhaps best make-up-ed. JB also told me that I was both the most and least ladylike person he knew. I am the dual nature of femininity? I met some really amazing people and got to know other amazing people better. There was much inebriation (without being destructive), much laughter, much joy. There was a good amount of political and sociological discussion among like-minded people in a place where people minded like us are hard to come by - totally refreshing. The only bad part about yesterday was basically that I didn't get to talk to Caleb at all. Saturdays are usually the day where we get to connect, it's the weekend for both of us and we usually get to talk for at least two hours. So i miss him a teensy bit more than usual today, but it is just what happens I guess. And now I must force myself to be interested in homework. sigh. c'est la vie.
