They called her Lola. It was what she preferred, but only from those who she didn't dislike.
March 23rd started as a normal day, and from what she guessed at 8:11 pm ended as one too. She woke up and followed the daily routine of getting ready and almost arriving late to school. She watched the day go by, and when he passed her, again did not say hi.
She sat alone in biology, as the others talked and giggled. There was not one single person in this class whom she could talk to openly for longer than 3 minutes. So she avoided any contact and turned out her ipod and wrote notes to her best friends.
Then she was given a ride to band where she messed up big time but was not punished, per usual. Which is why she adores this class. And Michael & Skylar & Tara & all those other people who make the class very cool.
AS she walked back to Foothill, freezing her ass off, she was paranoid that Daniel would pop up behind her and want to talk to her. But in the end she made it safely back to Foothill without seeing him.
In tech lit she was questioned about Amanda, the girl who is supposed to be one of her best friends. This class was even more boring than biology and she wanted to leave.
So she went to Buena and saw Scott. It was a little awkward but still OK. She was used to these situations by now. So she waited and Skylar came and went to the track meet with her.
He called her a whore but told her he loved her. He was her best friend. She loved him. He was the most wonderful friend ever and he was always there for her. He made her feel better about her body and things like that. It was cold and they were snuggled together for warmth and it was at that moment that she wished he didn't like her best friend and that he liked her. But oh well. It had come down to this and it was too late to change any of it.
She brought him to her house because it was cold outside and he needed to wait for his stepdad. He waited in her room with her and read her previous love notes given to her by her ex-boyfriend. When he didnt get the chance to finish reading them, he took the remainder of them home. She told him to burn them when he was done. He left and she was alone again.
But soon after, her mother came home, only to yell at her for the various things she did and didn't do. It seemed as if she would never be good enough for her. But it didn't matter anymore because she was used to this.
So when her mother left her, and her father was in to sleep, she stayed on the phone with her new friend Sean. He was an awesome guy, called her beautiful and cute and sweet. Made her feel special. And he was fun to talk to without worrying about him liking her. So when his phone died, she was disappointed but moved on.
And of what would come the next day, not one soul knew, she could only hope for a day filled with less sorrow than the last, and with more joy than ever.
