back from a week vacation in St. Thomas with the family & Sean. the plane ride was four hours, wayy long. our hotel was right on the beach ♥ and i actually got a decent tan : ] iguanas/lizards to them are like squirrells to new jersey, it was crazzy. there were pretty stray kitties that i wanted to take home with mee but wasn't allowed, poor kitties : [ i loved them.
so about what we did. the first night we got there i was so exhausted, and fell asleep at 730 and didn't wake up till 9 the next morning. the longest i've slept in a longg time. but after that i was up and ready for adventure : ] so we went shopping and went to a few other beaches beside the one we were staying at. two were gross but the others, muy bueno . i bought the prettiest, peachy, flowy shirt there< 3 and a purse, along with a few other things.
for two nights, we went to the GREENHOUSE to eat (almost like greenhall, oh wow how amazing) our first time there, we were seated next to the open window thinking nothing of it. a man selling pennants came up to the side trying to them to us, and lucky me was on the end, and he stayed for about five minutes thinking i'd change my mind. that's not the end of unexpected visitors. another man came walking by with a smile on his face, kind of laughing a little so i just assumed he was a happy, friendly man. well that assumption was wrong, at the last moment he passed us he threw three or four silver packets at us on our table and on the ledge. none of us knew what it was until one popped and exploded with liquid comming out so we pushed them all off the table and ledge until Kim came back to the table seeing something on the ground and put it back on the table not realizing so we had another explosion on our table. it was very odd, and we don't know what it is or why it happened. it was just very weird.
we went on a tour boat sort of thing that brought us to "The Baths" which were amazing. and then we went by caves for snorkeling. 30 ft water and i don't even enjoy snorkeling, so i didn't go in. good thing, as i was looking down into the water from the boat i see a fish that is about four feet long. and i'm told that it's a Barracouda, and they're not the friendliest of fish out there so my refusal to snorkel was satisfying to me.
the whole time, i got sun burnt once and it was the slightest burn. a little aloe cures all : ]
oh yeah, there was of course a near-death experiance. there they want to make it difficult for all the tourists who visit by deciding to drive on the left. okay so i know that it's not cause they want to torture us, it's cause the British used to live there, but that's not the point. my dad wasn't used to this, and tended to swerve into the right lane at times not realizing what he was doing. and of course, there was the one time where a car was comming straight at us in the right lane. as soon as the other car saw us, he calmly shifted to the left like it was his daily routine so i'm led to believe tourists make that mistake ALL the time so they're used to it.
i leave you with the dumbest quote of all, by me : [ we were playing the animal game in the car driving back to the hotel one night and the two clues reached were 1 it was a mammal and 2 it has four legs. my turn to guess or ask for a clue was next, and i was so excited and thought i knew the answer and yelled, A HUMAN. yes, i know humans don't have four legs but they ARE mammals, so half of my logic was correct : ] hah yahh.
