The Music and The Mirror

Nothing momunental to write about. Except for Chorus Line, I dind't do much this weekend. But what an experience Chrous Line was! I had only seen the movie before, so seeing it on stage was a lot different. I really liked the show, the review in my opinion is completly wrong. The cast was good, some of the singers were sort of weak, but what they lacked in singing they defintly made up in either dancing, acting, or both. Though dance is not my number one priority when it comes to performing, and defintly not my top talent, I still love to do it and love to watch it. This show really does speak to all actors, singers, and dancers out there. It challenges us with the question "What do you do when you can't dance anymore?" Now, you can change that around and say "what do you do when you can't get parts in shows anymore?" or "what do you do when you can't play soccer anymore?" and really anything. It's defintly a monumental part in the show because of the emotions shown through both body language and speech of the actors. It also made me jealous and bitter. I want to be up there so bad. Not just in Chorus Line, but in literally anything. Even shows I hate. I just want to do it. I know a lot of people at school don't understand why anyone would want to be an actress/singer/dancer, but I bet if they got to experience performing they would get it to some degree. To look out into an audience is something so special, but to actually take yourself into another place in time, to another location, and to become your character, someone else is so amazing. And then you get to come out and people you know come up to you and hug you and compliment you, but what's really satisfying is just when you pass a random stranger and they say "You're in the show? wow you did so good" Or of course that one time in Bye Bye Birdie when the little boy asked for my autograph. Though my part was SO small, he must have just seen that I had a makeup bag and such, but still. But autographs are not the reason I want to perform at all. I've been bitten by the acting bug, and I'll never get over it! So overall, I would give Chorus Line a 8.5 out of 10. Au reviour!

I really wish I had stuck to dancing...I think I have a passion for dancing. I love to get out in front of audiences and just do like they did on Making the Band 3. I want choreography. Performing is amazing. Keep up your dreams and don't let anyone tell you different. Don't be like me and quit like I did! -Molly
Kristin from Chorus Line! Don't worry, you'll get onstage soon...and when you do you'll get the compliments and not just becuase of the makeup bag!
