Listening to: Who knows-Avril Lavigne
Feeling: alright
I'm gonna live today like it's my last day!
Everyone's said that right? Avril Lavigne and Lindsay Lohan both sing songs representing that statement. They tell you in movies and books to live life as if it were your last day. Even if musicals, such as Aida "like my time on earth is cooking".
But do any of us follow that advice? Hardly. I would like to bring up some examples.
Example Numero Uno: Before one of the tournament basketball games, I had to get advice from all 11 of the cheerleaders on what color eyeshadow I should wear. Was it really because I couldn't decide which one I liked? no. It was because I wanted to know that all 11 of the girls would like my eyeshadow. If I was living life in my own way, as if death was tomorrow, I would have caked on the blue glitter eyeshadow and called it a night!
Example two: When a girl starts to like a guy. She first says "____ is sorta hot, what do you think?" and if her friend says "ew gross" than the girl erases the thought of him being hot and begins to call him hideous. It's just the facts of life really. If the world were to end tomorrow, wouldn't you like to look back and be like "yeah i liked that guy, and let him know!"
I could sit here and name 10000s of exuses of why we don't take chances: he'll think i'm a slut, they'll think I'm a loser, I won't get a part, I could never make the team, I'm too fat, I'm too short, etc.
But if we were all risk takers, wouldn't life be fun? We wouldn't fear so many things, and we could just enjoy ourselves.
I know that I am personally going to do atleast 1 thing that scares me every day! Yay for goal setting!
